Actually, yes. There are so many TV shows from so many different sources that it's literally impossible for even critics to keep up with all of it. You have to stomach a disproportionate amount of dogshit just in the filtering process to find something that you'll actually enjoy.

It's further compounded by the fact that a lot of quality shows take some time before they find their footing. So it's easy to watch an entire season of something that is downright horrible because you keep on waiting for it to get better.
