It's the death that's implied, otherwise what you're saying is "who is is it?"
Philip Seymour Hoffman for me. He was a druggie and all that, but if I have a guarantee that he wouldn't OD in the next few years, I'd pick him. Guy was just such a great actor. Even when he wasn't speaking, if he was on screen, you were usually just watching his reactions.
Considering his looks and how far he got despite that, it was just pure talent. I don't read much about how others felt but I feel like he was on of the better actors in my lifetime. Not sure if that's an unpopular opinion but it's very true. His acting was as good as it gets. Everyone I've worked with acting (I'm a permanent background character so not a big actor or anything) has a similar view of him. Just the little nuances in his performance are mind blowing. He was just so, so good.

Good to see another big fan. I mean no disrespect to Heath Ledger here, but I don't even think he was on the same level as Hoffman. He was a very talented actor but PSM was a once in a lifetime talent.
There are times I've seen Heath blow a line here or there, even a whole performance in a couple movies. You just don't have that with Philip Seymour Hoffman. It doesn't matter how small the role was or what type of role, Philip just completely nailed everything. Not just the way he said the lines but his entire aura. He was that character.

He's alive, and in saying that I honestly 34% believe it. Only he would have the balls to meme everyone that hard. It's the ultimate anti-humor stunt, spend the rest of your life with the sole purpose of preventing yourself from being recognize and then make sure your obituary (upon dying of natural causes or post-ironic suicide) just says "lol" or something

I know your joking but in all honesty I couldn't feel sorry for him if he died. Dude has fucked more beautiful women than any 100 men ever will. Probably has a better sexual pedigree than Gengis Khan (considering most of his lays were probably 5/10 mongol uggos by today's standards)

John Ritter just seemed like the type of man who's impossible to hate.
Stay Tuned is a fucking classic movie, and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

was going to say Phil Hartman
but oh my god Patrice would have been amazing these past few years
the worst part is, nobody could imagine what he would say. you could not pigeonhole him, and he brought up stuff that you could never predict

So has Johnny sins, but unlike Johnny, Jimmy kike is a total douche

most AIDS deaths happened around the late 80s/early 90s
he must have been taking it in the ass EXTRA HARD to die in 1983

No, I would not.
The man had done pretty much anything and everything that a man could want to do.
He earned a rest.

It would have been interesting to see him play Mace Windu in the Star Wars Prequels.

I'd gladly sacrifice everyone else who's ever appeared on a Comedy Central Roast, save for Norm Macdonald, to bring him back.

It's close between Ledger and Hoffman for me with regard to modern (past twenty years) celebrities. Hoffman was the better actor but Ledger had yet to really hit his prime. It's awful to think of the work both men had in their future that we'll never get to see.
If we go into the past I'd have to go with a cliche answer and say Dean or maybe John Cazale.

Will be missed forever, I'll never forget his final words, "CRIKEY, Look at that beauty! AWW FUCKING SHIT CUT THE TAPE CALL THE AMBOS< AW FUCK IM GOING DIE"
