It doesn't ruin the first one and it's not a nostalgia-fest. It's almost it's own thing and will give you some unique feels especially if you saw the original over 10 years ago. Like other anons said just watch it. I guarantee anyone telling you it's outright bad hasn't even seen it.

It's good OP. It's partly about nostalgia, and coming to terms with getting older. About how the world passes you by before you know it.

Some really nice throwbacks to the original, and it's never too much or too in your face.
