12th grade here, 1st period computer class.
I remember one of the teachers across the hall scurrying into the room, looking panicked as fuck as she turned on the tv
I was wondering what kind of movie we were watching as the second plane flew into the building. Then I noticed it was actually just the news.

1st grade. I lived in NYC during 9/11. I was in my computer class doing that Mavis Beacon typing program with that fucking chameleon

I had a obscured view of Manhattan from my window. I could see everyone but the towers because of a building in front of the window.
Anyway, I see smoke coming up behind the building and I tell the teacher there's some building on fire. She tells "It's probably some small fire, pay attention to your work" then she runs back into the room crying about the towers falling and I gave her some smug retard look. School ended early and then my dad took me to mcdonalds where I got the brown bionicle in my happy meal.

Freaked me right the fuck out. There was pretty much a riot with people trying to steal chips and cash them. Feel your way to the bar with the generator lights going and crazy degenerate gambler leafs going absolutely batshit only to find out the entire bar system is electronic and you can't get a drink, then finally walk outside into the dusk light and breathe a sigh of relief only to hear cars crashing from the lights being out and people being dumb. Thankfully a couple cool leafs that were by the hotel my brother and I were staying at came over to hang out and we sat there drinking warm Molson XXX and then hired two hookers that sucked all of our dicks. Honestly, reading that thread an hour ago about the 'why no movies about 500-1500AD' really woke me up. Muslims and Christians were in a 1000 year struggle we are just lucky to be in an age where we could have 500 years of peace but now I guess another 1000 years start post 2001.

I hate religion so much but I guess the other red pill is that, its more cultures and races that use religion to fight, not really that the words of Jesus or Muhammad were evil.

That's kind of a stupid way to look at it.

For one thing, Christians were in a very long struggle at the time. Monophysite Christians were pretty happy about the Caliphate since it meant they were treated better than they were under the Byzantines. Was it perfect? Definitely not. There were (and still are) psychos, but the caliphates by and large treated monophysites better than the Byzantines did. Jews were better treated, too.

Trump is right to attack news organizations for misleading the public and pushing political agendas. There is a serious problem with neutrality and narrative building in today's 24 hour news cycle. The problem is his criticism is notably absent with news organizations misleading the public and pushing political agendas that just so happen to agree with him.

Once he starts calling out the bullshit in his favor, then he'll be absolutely spot on. Until then, he's just pushing a skewed narrative himself.

You're building a narrative where everything the media says is lies and wrong, while Trump himself only says how it really is (despite being caught repeatedly for lying). Yes it does matter, because by letting him do it you're making it acceptable and normalizing the behavior. Little by little you're creating a status quo where the President can lie about everything without held accountable for it, and more and more people will start to believe only his version of events.

And sooner or later it's going to escalate from just calling the media liars, because he will have the support of the people to attack the media with legislation and censorship that dictates what you can and cannot report. And that, my friend, is the road to authoritarian dictatorship.

You need the media to hold the government accountable. Letting people be ignorant and accept lies at face value isn't the answer.

Trump has direct financial interests in that pipeline. And he already made an executive order that in practice rushes the environmental impact study that was ordered under Obama just before he left office. The study usually takes up to 18 months to complete, and its circulated around for opinions, etc. before the finished report, but now thanks to Trump it's basically already finished and, iirc. they only take notes after the fact, through e-mail, rendering the process moot.

you silly goose, the reason why Sweden has so many cases of rape is because of new laws pretty much touching anyone unwantingly can be considered rape.

Imagine, for example, if your boss rubbed against you in an unwanted way at work once a week for a year. In Canada, this would potentially be a case of sexual assault. Under Germany’s more limited laws, it would be zero cases. In Sweden, it would be tallied as 52 separate cases of rape. If you engaged in a half-dozen sex acts with your spouse, then later you felt you had not given consent, in Sweden that would be classified as six cases of rape.

Nobody to blame for that more than the media themselves. They're even the same buffoons who started the "fake news," bullshit as a ill-obscured ploy to discredit their opposition and it blew up in their face because nobody trusts them anymore. They sold their dignity and trustworthy reputations to elect someone who didn't get elected. They were happy to dig the grave until others started crawling out and now they're too deep to get out themselves.

Trump exists because the media, the entertainment industry, the tech cliques in Cali, the pinko academics, the out of touch politicians, they all lost their shit so hard they invalidated themselves to so many people that an orange idiot seems positive in comparison. The harder they push, the less people listen.

Oh the same reports that suppress crimes refugees are accused of? https://www.rt.com/news/376582-sweden-cop-immigrant-crime/

9/11 was crazy. I was in 11th grade, 17 years old, news was turned on after the first plane hit, watched the second one go in live.

I don't think people understand how terrifying it was, particularly being 17. We didn't know it was a terrorist attack at first. We thought it was a prelude to invasion, that we were just generally under attack. Everyone was freaking out, some of our parents had been in Vietnam and we basically thought we would inevitably be drafted, like 100% chance.

It might be chilling for some of you guys to watch the footage but to be almost of draft age and watch that shit go down live was crazy.

I've never been more proud of my country though, the way we came together in the aftermath. Things were pretty divisive back then thanks to the 2000 election, the recount drama and everything else.

I wish we could get that sort of unifying event again, but it wouldn't be a fucking attack. I don't think it's possible though, but I'd love that feeling of full acceptance from every American again, regardless of political lines. In many ways, it was a beautiful time.

What a load of fucking bullshit. If anything it sparkled a new wave of nationwide racism against minorities, especially, obviously, Arabs, that still stands to this day.
And it didn't do jack shit to unite us, it brainwashed the public into getting fucked in the ass with acts and laws that violated citizens' liberties in the name of national security. Even Bush of all people got a standing ovation at Yankee stadium.

You deserved 9/11

Unless you're a goat diddler.... you should stop meming. Some people on /pol/ might think Hitler was good, but literally no one here says that about 9/11.

>misnaming something a massacre that clearly wasn't a massacre is ok because there was this other thing that happened

Excellent point, Kellyanne.

Try living through the 80s.

Gorbachov was so fucking scared this cowboy was gonna push the button he destroyed the Soviet Union from without instead of letting Reagan do it with nukes.

>She didn't fabricate the event.

Trying to send money and guns to Iraq (and failing) and committing an actual terrorist attack on US soil are two very different things.
>>
>>79618423
I think the real terror would be back in the 60s.

My mom was born in 1950 and in elementary school, they had to do those nuclear drills where they all got under their desks like once a month, particularly around the Cuban Missile Crisis.

That would've been some unnerving shit for a kid to deal with.

She "misnamed" it on multiple separate occasions, its almost as if she's trying to confuse people and plant Bowling Green Massacre into people's heads
>>
>>79618449
You're right we should just forgive those guys for just being patriotic.

It's the same as equating someone caught sending death threats to a school to the person actually committing a school shooting.
>>

>She didn't fabricate the event

Except she did. It would be no more fitting to call it the Bowling Green Massacre as it would be to call it the Bowling Green Tea Party.

Bowling Green Massacre fits her agenda a bit better so she went with that one.

Nigger I'm of italian heritage.
And tell me how the fuck am I wrong? It's literally what happened.
>>
>>79618524
Sending weapons to Iraq to kill American soldiers from American soil is not comparable to your analogy at all because it was a tangible threat to our military.

KYS before he makes you die in a landwar in asia
>>
>>79618550
Right, but it wasn't a threat to Bowling Green.

Calling it the Bowling Green massacre is implying an attack on civilians in Bowling Green, not two guys who live in Bowling Green trying and failing to supply terrorists in Iraq with weapons.

Mocking her misnaming the event doesn't change the fact that it did happen.

someone talkin bout JERSEY yo?
>>
>>79618671

No massacre happened. Two criminals were arrested for attempting a crime happened.
>>
>>79618671
But it didn't.

There was no massacre (thing that happened) in Bowling Green (place where thing would have happened).

This isn't fifth grade history with that cool teacher that gave you partial credit for knowing the place name but getting the event completely wrong, Kellyanne. It's national politics.
