Nah, the shows are pretty much en par when it comes to speed. GOT is extremely slow as well. And it has fucking nothing to do with the storytelling, both shows are written very slowly on purpose, because people are watching them and every season = more money. Last GOT season could have easily been condensed to five episodes by leaving out filler shit and comic relief. It's usually just one or two episodes per season that are actually moving the plot forward.
