TWD hooked me with the pilot episode. It was pure kino, one of the best episodes of any TV show I have ever seen. The first season was strong enough to show it wasn't a one-hit wonder. Season 1 was legitimately great but things went downhill in season 2 and since then the show has had occasional moments of greatness but it has never been able to recapture the magic of season 1. This was honestly one of my least favorite episodes of the entire series. The stuff in the Kingdom / Daryl was mediocre, but the stuff at the Junkyard was literally some of the worst material I've ever seen the show do. Worse than the van flipping off the interstate and landing upright from two seasons ago.

I get it, this show is based off a comic book, but this episode felt like something right out of the most cringe-worthy comic, the dialogue, the way the junkyard people talked / acted, the way Rick reacted, it felt extremely out of character / out of the norm in a show that already features a lot of over the top ridiculous shit. They just weren't believable.

Terminus didn't make a lot of sense to me, first off, the eating people seemed very unnecessary considering the time, their situation and thus the ease in which they could've scavenged and grown crops.

I disagree, it was pretty well executed aside from a few minor details. They weren't just getting humans to eat, they were getting all their gear / equipment / guns and they had the manpower. They should have scouted far longer before entering Terminus in the first place, trusting them blindly was their mistake.

Anyways, it wasn't their craving for human flesh that drove them to hunt down Rick, it was out of revenge for destroying their home / their family in Terminus.
