Obama didn't really have any real scandal during his presidency and his only real trait was that he's black.
He just didn't have a lot of humor potential.

South Park handled it alright by making him a diamond thief that just used the president shlick as an alibi.

actually that's because republican shits are so afraid to get exposed by a real interviewer that they are hard to book on the show while there are tons of liberal panelists who are smart enough to defend their points
>>
>>79499457
Obama had scandals, but they weren't funny. The only thing I can think of a sketch is him being "too white" for black voters after his first term

he had many scandals but they chose to not report it and keep it hush hush.

that's why Wikileaks went on the major offense on them last election.

That's only because all of his shit is being willfully ignored. If they started giving him shit for every single bad (or every) thing he does, they'd come to the conclusion that he's also a corporate cocksucking warlord, but pointing that out would be racist or something. Also he's not a republican so he gets a free pass on everything.

give him credit for trying. he's good friends with Ann Coulter (they probably fucked in the 90s) and he's trying to get Milo on
>>
>>79500303
Biggest thing I can think of is how he promised transparency during his campaign but actually ran a very opaque white house and US surveillance programs and use of special forces went up under him.

I don't like Trump, I'm not a conservative, but Obama was no saint.
>>
>>79500162
Mostly just incredibly immature
Just going to make MSNBC and CNN hate you more, too. A good President tries to make as many citizens happy as possible, but Trump obviously sticks with appealing to the people who are dumb enough to already like him

Why would you trust news articles? There was a tremendous amount of scandals under Obama but none of them were ever reported. For instance, he actually had gay sex with Putin, that's much worse than what Trump did, but of course the dishonest media didn't report it.
>>
>>79500324
Why not though? Unbiased government sounds good to me.
>>
>>79499431

Fallon never makes fun of Trump. He's pretty based.

Because Obama's election was unique in that it brought in a much larger bloc of first time voters(fell for the first black potus meme).

You had a whole new generation of people that voted for Obama, but were otherwise political illiterates. They wouldn't stand for criticism of Obama because they didn't know enough about politics to know he was gonna be just like the rest.

I'm all for giving him a chance but he's blowing that chance. Not day by day but hour by hour.

When someone makes an ass of themselves I'm all for joking about it. Same way Bush made an ass of himself and they all pounced on him.

Obama was too dry to ever really make proper fun of so they barely touched him.

/pol/ the response. Should have added cuck in there. Obama's admin fucked up plenty. The thing is it was always his administration and he never said a word about it.

Meanwhile Trump asks Flynn to resign and then goes on national television and say's he's a great guy and that the leaks were true but the media covering the fact that leaks were there are false.

Now that's funny. This will be covered.

Why the man doesn't just do a weekly youtube address to the nation is beyond me.

i believe that you actually believe this. however, Maher stopped having smart people with a spine come on his show a long time ago. his show has become, lets talk about these things that make us (left people) look good and makes those stupid republics look stupid, he panders to the audience way too much (which from his facial expressions he obviously hates). and it is ALWAYS 3v1 on any debate. sometimes 5v1 near the end of the show.

during the election i know all of OP pic is guilty of this but Maher was by far the worst. he must have said Trump 50-100 times each and every show and Hillary 1-3 times. my gad it was bad. and when he started calling Trumps eldest son "Baron von fucker fuck face" for like 4 shows in a row it was sad. Maher thought that was a real funny joke.

last point, during one of his monologues Maher admitted that in the Hillary emails that she cheated to win the primaries but who cares, she was going to win anyway. i lost a lot of respect i ever had for him.

Liberal here. Obama was softballed by the media. It's been that way since he gave that 2004 DNC speech. They relished in anointing him as the "come out of nowhere to beat the system" messiah for the exact reason that Biden brought up back in the '08 primary: he was one of the first well-spoken, non-confrontational black politicians

>shifting the goalposts
I never shifted anything, friendo. This conversation is about how valid it is to call something like Fast and Furious an "Obama scandal" on par with real scandals. I disagree and I will explain why I do in a second.
>Why did Eric Holder resign, again?
I'm not an expert on this operation but I assumed it was because he fronted most of the blame for how the operation was handled? Does that make him only a fall-guy? I don't know, you'd have to provide evidence for that. Most likely it was really partially his fault.
>Did he just feel that being Obama's AG was just too easy and he wanted to challenge himself further?
I think a lot of you believe that these complex decisions are carried out by one or two people. Fast and Furious had a team of people responsible both competent or not. I understand the logic behind Fast and Furious and while I don't outright disagree with it, I hardly see how this is comparable to other more explicit examples of scandals. A lot of your "outrage" seems like you just want to build a false equivalence to make Obama seem just as bad. Fast and Furious and an increased drone strike program are the only two things that really come to mind. I've criticized him for both but I still overall agree that he had a pretty tame 2 terms when it comes to "le scandals". The drone program is more like a debate on technology, oversight and accountability with the military rather than a scandal.
>And I'd really like to know what your definition of a scandal is
Fast and Furious was an approved operation...it wasn't illegal, to my knowledge. It was a government authorized operation. A scandal would be something more in line with Watergate, or Trump's alleged offshore funds in Russian banks (if there is any truth to that). You know, breaches of actual federal laws.
>since apparently a "bungled government operation that resulted in public outcry" apparently doesn't qualify
No, it doesn't. So just call it a public outcry.

Well first, it is customary for a newly elected President to meet with the PM personally and show them around the White House. He didn't and nobody informed him on how to meet the PM. After that he pulls some autistic power play handshake that is found in his "Art of the Deal" book that he does quite often to people. The Japanese don't like prolonged handshakes and don't like physical contact like that. In the video, he rolls his eyes at Trump. Besides that, it was reported that Trump just said some ignorant shit that made him look uninformed about Japanese government.

Sure it's minor, but it's about temperament.

>I actually do follow politics and his list of fucked up things Trump has done is pretty tame.

If you don't understand why this is important to criticize, you honestly aren't involved enough with politics or understand why people are fucking mad. Trump's press conference today was amazing.

I've never been more proud to call this man my president. He absolutely destroyed them.

I'm willing to bet that at least a few of these reporters went home and had a good long cry.

Because the US is the primary source of all global funding for climate change science on the planet, that's why. You basically fling everyone back decades.
>You can criticize him for it all you want but he's just doing what he said he'd do a year before the election.
And I don't care what he promised or not, I'm still (as you say now) going to criticize him objectively for very obvious things. Absolute stinging, savage, searing, painful butt hurt.

To answer your questions directly, he didn't need to answer any questions.

The whole "evil Russia" thing is a meme being pushed by globalists who are trying to start a war between Russia and the US.

They're doing it for several reasons. The first is profit. Also the media knows that nothing brings in more ratings than war.

The second reason is that Putin threw certain banks out of his country, and those banks run our country, so they've now decided that we need to kill millions of people on their behalf. This was Hillary's plan until she lost the election.

But that didn't stop the globalist maniacs from trying to create a war with Russia.

Putin is a corrupt asshole, but the US has no say in what happens inside his nation. And the Russian people are not my enemy, nor will I support any war with them.

Deal with it.

They may not be scandals exactly but they are things Obama was criticized for and generally speaking rightfully so.

He should have gotten more criticism over things like PRISM and drones but for some reason people don't care.

Oh also he killed a US citizen with a drone, effectively executing him without trial but said it was ok because he was an "enemy combatant". You know if Bush did that liberals would have lost their shit but it was hardly talked about with Obama, to be fair republicans didn't raise much issue over it either since they love the drones and surveillance too but it's a fucked up and dangerous precedent and something people should care about.

Look who's in charge of the drones now? Maybe you trusted Obama to only get "the bad guys" but do you want someone like Trump having so much power? What if he considered his critics "enemy combatants"? Not saying he's going to do that but its a dangerous road to head down and one that Obama started us on. But you know he was cool so it's ok.

You really do have cognitive dissonance if you think he was a candidate right for the job, more so if you can look at his campaign and first few weeks in office and blatantly ignore them.

He's FAR from perfect and actually speaks in exceptionally damaging rhetoric. He may even go down as one of our worst Presidents. I'm just sick of this false equivalence meme like if he does something terrible I can't explain why it is terrible or judge it, on the grounds that I have to hold him up to some "whataboutism" argument with other Presidents. It annoys me more when they attack supporters of Trump while putting their own side up on a pedestal as tolerant and progressive, when the riots show they're just about the opposite. >>
>>79510273
So a few things, I'm not here, personally, doing a pedestal thing with you but I understand what you are saying. Now with your other points:
>muh riots
I want this meme to end. The nationwide protests (yes, all over the country) have overwhelmingly been positive and peaceful. The Women's March had nearly 3 million fucking people and like, 3 arrests. The riot violence is statistically small, short-lived and rare. It's used constantly on /pol/ as a boogeyman with no real substance and ignores the very obvious criticism of how this same shit happened 8 years ago and yes, it was conservative. But I just wish you'd all stop using this as a catch-all when it's a statistical minority to the point of a boogeyman. A few ANTFA faggots throwing a gargabe can at a window is not a nationwide epidemic of riots.
>The "If you support Trump you are literately Hitler" jargon just doesn't sit well with me
Yes, extreme pseudo-liberals do this but it's also overall, a meme.

I'm not doing that here, to you. I'm just saying that if you did vote for Trump chances are that you were misinformed about him or misinformed about politics generally and I don't mean that as an insult.
>>

Not him but last I checked this country is pretty split down the middle politically. Hillary won the popular vote by "only" 2 million. Why there isn't something filling that gap is what I don't understand. Just about everybody laughs and has some sense of humor so there should definitely be a market for them.
>>
>>79510568
>There is no right wing equivalent to the regular violence, intimidation, and attempts to silence speech that we see regularly from left wing groups.
You are delusional if you believe this. I just explained how the "riots" were so rare and so few in counting that it's a meme. Most of what you said is over-exaggerated fear-mongering. The Right has absolutely done it's fair share of intimidation and silencing free speech. It's not an epidemic but it's happened. You are cherry-picking political spectrums to fit a current narrative and it's intellectually dishonest.

So there was zero violence at tea party rallies? Not even a few arrests or a little vandalism? The political landscape didn't change, just the internal power structure. Majority of Americans are still overwhelmingly more left-leaning. But that's first world society as a whole, as America is considered a liberal country with most first world societies. /pol/ hates to admit that though, mostly because it shows how little they understand what the word "liberal" even means.
>Hillary won the popular vote by "only" 2 million
Wasn't it 3 million?
>Why there isn't something filling that gap is what I don't understand.
Political satire is truth to power, conservatives are usually in power. That could be why.

>When recently has a right wing mob silenced a candidate, intimidated voters, smashed up a city because they were upset, etc?
The question wasn't "when recently", the question was "does it ever happen at all"? You said it doesn't, which is bullshit.
>And the left wing violence is not contained to riots, although those do happen.
You are just grasping at straws here, your whole argument is just "whataboutism" without the introspection or skills to understand that the Right does it too. It is literally the definition of cherry-picking you fucking retard.

Right, I totally got btfo. How will I ever recover? I forget that you can't bring facts or rationality to an autism gun fight.

Oh I'm not sure then. I stopped reading about it after something like 2.5million when I last saw the results. Pretty sure it broke a record either way for biggest popular vote loss.

Nice link to a tea party riot or really any example of right wing mob violence during Obama's term

>the right does it too!
[citation needed]

I can find a bunch of videos of Trump supporters being attacked by mobs in the street so if the right does the same thing it shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Don't think it was meant as one mate

Not the anon your arguing with but aren't you the one who originally said leftists are more violent? I think that means the burden of proof is on you first before you start demanding citations from him.

How do you not understand this fallacy you are constructing?
>I saw it happen to Trumpfags
>therefore:
>it only happens to Trumpfags
This isn't an argument.

>THE RIGHT DINDU NUFFIN

Do you honestly hold the opinion, that only one end of the political spectrum is capable or responsible for violence? Is that REALLY the opinion you are pushing?

And you see nothing wrong with this? On the grounds that you watched some youtube videos of some obviously Right-leaning channel, show some minor violence?

You are a rube, mate.

for an argument anyways*

He won't have any, just a few youtube videos sprinkled around here and there.

He'll ignore that the largest organized "liberal" rally US history, had an astronomically low number of 3 arrests.

But he's a dumb faggot.
