Do Italian-Americans really do this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jbgPHAQVbk
do what?

Name their sons after themselves.
Italian american here.
We are supposed to name our kids after our fathers. So my dads dad was named Paulo and I wad supposed to be named Paul. But my mom was like fuck that and named me Michael and this pissed off my italian grandmother. This is why you got vittorio emmanuel II instead of vittorio emmanuel jr.

yeah they do
>>79458330
Sometimes you are junior because your uncle, or grandad has the same name.
>>79458364
>Uncle Junior
IT ALL MAKES SENSE
>>79457932
isn't that an american thing?
like Donald Trump Jr for example
>Know an Italian named Rocco
>His Dad is named Rocco
>His Uncle is named Rocco
>His cousin is named Rocco
>His grandfather was named Rocco
Italians are stupid as fuck.
>>79458443
it was pretty common in the UK and I am assuming most of Europe until the mid 20th century
>>79458443
>isn't that an american thing?
yeah it is

Black people in the UK call their kids Junior. Not "Jnr" as Mark Jnr, but Junior.
Always bugged the shit out of me.
In Ireland have the word óg, which has a similar meaning, for example if the father and son are both called Sean, then the son would be Sean Óg
