This. Visuals are all that matter anyway, since Hollywood is consistently unable to come up with a plot that isn't fucking retarded.
It's a shame actually, Jonathan Nolan's script seemed like it could've actually been pretty cool, but Hollywood just had to fag it up.

So The Martian was a movie that was enthusiastic and at that point I thought it was going to turn into sci fi kino. Some super awesome things going on like him using his practical teachings to get comfy in the ship. The latter half of the film is basically the crew trying to rescue him and that was okay, but expectations were of something a little more...deceiving or elusive.

Interstellar was an old fashioned movie. Drawing inspiration from sci fi of 70s and 80s with a modern touch. It's probably a good secondary classic but besides the big docking scene and the tesseract twist it was passable.

Okay to good movies, both of the directors have done better, but Interstellar has the minsblowing factor going for it
