I'm going to watch the film Stalker for the first time in about 20 minutes.
What should I expect?
A great movie that you won't be able to appreciate.
>>79156478
Why not?
>>79156467
Ablack raven, circling above the grave.
Pretty dull film
>>79156500
Is it really?
>>79156564
It's been a while since I saw it.
Are you at that cinema in melbourne? That shows classic films?
why don't you go up to the front and talk to people? Don't sit in the back of an empty theater like an aspie.
>>79156646
lmao
>>79156615
Yep, at the Astor theatre.
>>79156646
Because I like sitting at the back. And people can't see me posting on 4chan.
Learn how to speak Russian in 10 minutes
>>79156481
Probably because you didn't grow up in soviet Russia
And because the last 3 movies you saw were all star wars and super hero
>>79156467
Three Russians go urban exploring and have 2deep4u conversations.
>>79156714
>And because the last 3 movies you saw were all star wars and super hero
Well actually the last 3 movies I watched were FF1-3.
>>79156726
Does that stand for Final Fantasy or The Fast and the Furious? Either way you will hate it Anon.
>>79156748
Fast and Furious.
I guess we'll find out in about 10 or so minutes when it starts.
>>79156753
Just try to think some people made this from a totally different situation than you.
>>79156684
Yeah I know about it. It's literally the only cinema in this shithole country that hasn't been monopolized by big theatre chains. You're lucky you live near it. You'd think Sydney would have something similar but NOPE.
Okay so the screen just went black and the lights turned on, but it hasn't even been two hours since the movie started.
Was that it? Or is there seriously an interlude for a two and a half hour movie?
>>79157027
Damn that's got to suck, I'd have expected every city to at least have a cinema like this, especially Sydney.
So I just finished watching the movie.
Yeah it was confusing as fuck, I don't think I understood a thing from that.
>>79156467
you should know, you just watched it 20 minutes ago
>>79159716
I thought it was a meme thread because I read it like that too
>>79156726
Haha oh wow, you picked the only franchise plebbier that capeshit. Yeah no this movie isn't for you, it's all dialogue
>>79160318
I already finished watching it. It was nice, but I didn't understand a thing.
>>79157027
In Sydney, there's the Orpheum Theatre in Mosman. They're pretty good.
It's a pretty shit movie desu, don't know why everyone praises it so much.
>>79160355
It was based off of the book roadside picnic. A lot of stuff is similar but it's not 1:1 iirc, though it's been a -long- time, so I could be dead wrong. You really need to put yourself in a different mindset to understand the movie.
>>79162261
>desu
Nice
>>79162337
OP here. What kind of mindset should I put myself in? Depressed communist Soviet-era apocalyptic mindset?
>>79162400
You have to literally let go of everything and just experience the movie, not manually overanalyze "what does this or that mean" because there is no singular universal answer, Tarkovsky hates symbolism and only wants to ewoke emotions from the viewer.
>>79162400
The movie came out in 1979. Imagine being the average citizen in Soviet Russia.
>>79162474Great way to put it honestly. The movie is best approached as an experience.
We need /film/ or /kno/ so much in this site
>>79162474
>>79162522
Well, it was definitely an experience. I was trying to look for any symbolism that might be in the film, but nothing stood out for me.
Also, are there multiple versions of this film? The wikipedia page says that the run time is 160 minutes, which is 2 hours and 40 minutes. But the movie started at 1935, had a brief interlude of about 10 minutes at 2100, and finished at 2300. That's like 3 and a half hours.
Just watched this. It was pretty shit.
>>79162950
oh man, I thought it was a great film but now you've convinced me that it is in fact pretty shit, thank you anon for that highly intellectual post
>>79163108
no broblem my nigga xD
>>79162563
Hiroshima tried to give it to us, but the fucking retards from this board made him delete it.
>>79160355
You're supposed to read the subtitles
>>79163608
kek
No but really, I didn't understand any of the subtext or anything that the film had. I mean, I understood what was going on, but I didn't understand the meaning of it all.
Especially the daughter with the telekinesis.
>>79156467
boring movie nothing happens, just skip to the half hour and your went even more anything. There is literally a 15 min scene of just a cart moving on a railway track.
>>79164812
*you won't even miss
fucking phone
