The movie should've been there is no problem, it's just Chris Pratt who woke up too early and after a few years he gets bored and wakes someone up. Then circumstances lead to an argument where he accidentally kills her.

A traumatized and psychotic Pratt then rampages through the ship waking up 1 woman at a time, wooing her, and then growing bored of her and killing her.

The movie would play with your perception of time, it'd show Pratt waking up and slowing going crazy like it did, then skip a huge amount of time without telling you where a woman wakes up and Pratt acts like it's the first time it's ever happened. Then after awhile you learn that it has happened before, and she finds records of Pratt spacing other women after cutting them up.
