Have there been any films or television shows that did lovecraftian horror right?
Are there any films that depict how much of a cuddle monster he was with Sonia?

Considering how the term "Lovecraftian horror" seems to be entirely subjective, I'm guessing yes and no.

Why is he so smug, bros?

They would have daily cuddle sessions where Sonia would massage his hair and he would tell her how much he loves her.
>I've decided to go visit a remote town upon hearing something strange is happening
>the locals are all peons but they all give different descriptions
>I stay at [location] for the night with my assistants
>my assistants died but I lived, boy I'm sure lucky.
>I saw something that was really bad. like so bad I can't even tell you how bad this bad thing was.
>btw now I'm crazy
Mouth of Madness, Reanimator, Dagon for some but it wasn't my thing. Probably the best answer you'll get.
It's jacob's not Lovecraft but Ladder is close in terms of portrayal of the mental side of the mythis. Into the Mouth of Madness is pretty good and so is Cthulu (2007).

Pardon my stroke
Meant to say that it's not in the mythos but from a psychological horror perspective Jacob's Ladder fits into the right themes
