Does anyone else here miss 2000-2004/5 era Nick? Early Spongebob

I mostly just miss Ren and Stimpy.

I don't know. I can still watch something like Animaniacs and laugh. The biggest issue for me is that so many cartoons have taken the Adventure Time aesthetic. They lack identity for me because of that.

Nick is like SNL - the version YOU grew up with is the "best one". Most say 90s, but some say 70s, some say early 2000s, others even say late 2000s (mostly 14 year olds). I even know oldfags in their 40s who miss 70s Nick, back when nick was called the "Pinwheel Channel".

It's part growing up, part different circumstances/taste and part lazy cartoon making. That's also been around since forever though, you just tend to forget about the shitty ones from your own youth. There are still some quality cartoons nowadays, even if the ratio tipped. 3D animation also cut a large part of the warmth, character and effort out of it, but that may also be solely the opinion of people who didn't grow up with it, making it difficult to stay objective.
I have a whole library of older cartoon shows for when my nephew is over because I think at a young age it's better to absorb less aggressive and more story focused content than some abstract concept broken up by gag after gag with overly deformed characters.
