Anytime someone says science proves or proved something their science teachers should lose their jobs. If the fact that science only confirms the most likely outcome hasn't been made clear to you by adulthood then your science teachers failed you. There being a god is a possible outcome, but it's not a very likely one. That's to the extent anyone should waste their time "arguing" about religion.

The problem there is that there is no way to test this theory out. Technically speaking it's both true and untrue, and ultimately pointless for each of us. In the context of whether or not there is a god then there is and there isn't and along with that there are an infinite number of splits from there. The fact that we could be living in any one of these realities is what makes it all so pointless to worry about. There is no evidence for god, so therefore not worrying about it is the best possible option until such a time that one we can determine it's existence and two communicate.

Morals are supposed to be internal and universal. If they are external then it means that you can adopt whichever one you want that suit you and therefore there is no point to it.
