I saw this film once, just one time, two years ago and remember all this. After they get to Vietnam, it's literally a blank spot in my memory. I cannot for the life of me recall a single scene other than "Me so horny" and if forced at gunpoint to remember, I would be killed.

I've heard many other people say this, so I don't know what all this fucking hubbub is.

I mean what's the point of the second half? The Many Mothers are terrible, the characters are mediocre, then they just backtrack with a few less-spectacular sequences.

The only worthwhile part after this is the Night sequence which is so obviously has a filter over it it's pathetic, especially for a movie so dedicated to filmmaking, and even then the only real good part of that was the music and that crazy guy who dual wields and prays to Hechler & Koch.

The wives were bad, Joe was boring, Furiosa was a weak protagonist and Max was a weak companion in the second half, and essentially became a backseat driver in his own fucking film, while having unnecessary and unwelcome PTSD drama and feelings.

The second half was good, but the first half was so memorable because of how unique it was. It was 45 minutes of realistic boot camp, something no one else had ever put on film, and we still never see it because it was perfect and can't be outdone. The story contained in the 45 minutes is very relatable and understandable, it's universal. Even people who've never been in the military understand every nuance of private pyle. We even feel sorry for him when he's a bumbling fat tard. It's perfect and it deserve all of the praise it gets.

People usually complains about "people who complains that Max was never the star of his own film" but this really nails the point home, this film would be 9/10 if they replace Furiosa with another character and remove 90% of the focus on the wives and give the time to Joe.

Lost Highway

It's a little boring with all the hanging around, doing nothing from the soldiers. But then the action sets in.

However, I don't get the "Vietnam the movie" too much. Is the second half actually a movie within a movie?

And what about those vietnamese soldiers from the first attacks? They seemed very amateur, almost like bad-acted.
