I haven't had any problems with VLC player. I actually started using it because of Windows Media Player was fucking up. VLC solved the problems I had.

why is seeking in MPC so fucking slow? it takes forever and it always makes it feel laggy af, thats why ive tolerated vlc for as long as i have. that, and interface is garbage and i have to remap all the shortcuts

Tbh, I do find that lots of files I download can't be played properly on VLC, even they play OK on Windows. Large files, 1080p movies can be fucked up on VLC. But on WMP I can't get it to play subtitles, so there is no way of watching foreign language kino on it.

This is really true. VLC sucks on actual high quality files. I swear its meant to play those shitty Kazaa videos.

The new windows picture & video (or whatever it's called) that replaced Windows media player is actually really good. And the seeking is smooth unlike MPC isn't able to pinpoint an exact location on the video. Of course tv will never admit it but I seriously recommend you guys trying it out
