Is The OA the poor man's Stranger Things or is Stranger Things the poor man's The OA?

The OA definitely had the better villain but then again Stranger Things had an ending. That being said The OA had 2 pretty good sex scenes.

The OA was REALLY good until the last episode. I have no fathomable idea why they dropped the ball so hard. Did they run out of time? Did they run out of money? Did they all get really high and let an edgy 15 year old girl write the last episode?
