Aside from the pandering Moonlight is legit good.

If you look at it as like a character piece, seeing how they evolve over time, it becomes a pretty neat narrative.

Chiron's character becomes more of a hardened badass drug nigger, while his oneitis ends up a cook at some shitty diner taking orders from people.

Moonlight is honestly a fantastic movie.
Fences is pretty good, you can skip it though. It probably wont win anything outside of Viola Davis's pretty much guaranteed supporting actress win.
Hidden Figures is ok. Could pull out an upset best actress win but it would be undeserved. Its a family feel good movie that feels like it was made for TV. Bazinga is in it
