What did /tv/ mean my this?

>blaming the author and not the artist
>>78900710
cant you see the river you twat
Trauma from Hobbit sucking so hard that it created a propably permanent vacuum of lotr-tier Tolkien movies. /tv/ is still in denial.
Silmarillion is almost impossible to turn to movies or tv-series. Children of Hurin, for example, could be plausible but if it were made, it would take a huge dump on the legacy of Tolkien. Just like the Hobbit did.

There are numerous waterfalls coming out from under the city but there are no open water bodies above them. Rivers, streams and waterfalls needed large catchment areas to supply them with runoff water. The water in these waterfalls could not be coming Gondolin so they'd have to be coming from underground which is impossible.
>>78900856
>there are no open water bodies above them.
proof?
Its a /tv/ gets triggered by non canon artwork episode
>>78900660
Economically Gondolin wouldn't work. You couldn't sustain a city of its size from just collecting taxes within the walls.
Tolkien was a hack

Chris pls
>>78900890
The picture. There are no visible open water bodies. In order for the waterfalls to CONSTANTLY be running water, there would have to be a catchment that at least a few square kilometres in size. The catchment surrounding the city is quite visibly large but it is below the waterfall which means it can't be feeding the waterfall. Ted Nasmith is a fucking hack.
>GoT fags who get triggered when fantasy does away with the laws of reality because it's fantasy and has every right to do that

They could pump the water from underground sources. It's all mineral water.
>>78900660
When I see a kingdom like that I can't help but wonder about their tax policy.
>>78900710
It's clearly an impact crater with mineral springs that formed after the mountain got leveled.

Anybody recommend reading Children of Hurin?
I read the Silmarillion a few years back so I know the whole story already. Seems like the Tolkien estate just wanted to make some easy money so unsure whether to buy it or not
They have a well. Jerusalem has no rivers either
>>78903972
>I think the writer of the books is a hack because the movies cut out parts he wrote for time
Okay.
>>78904122
It's good. It's not really a finished novel but it's way more than what the Silmarillion gives you about the story.
