The original episodes were stored on videotapes, and shortly afterwards the BBC would make Telerecordings of them for overseas-sales. Class will be forgotten shortly after it ends or be remembered for what it is. A spinoff with a tenuous relationship with it's mother show. It will be the Joanie loves Chachi of science fiction. Love and monsters imo shows the aftermath of when the doctor comes to call better, certainly tonally, than class. It also has a vastly superior soundtrack.

Maybe because there's actually a viable chance that their species could reproduce with humans, making Earth the logical choice to put them as opposed to someplace where they'd just wither away into complete extinction? That would even explain why they find humans sexually attractive despite them being a different species.
