This is all wrong.

They're waiting for the BBC Studios to take control of the show to fund it privately sometime before June. If they can start before May, it'll be a solution series, if they can't, the entire series will air in 2017. That's the current plan. There are 2 scripts in (first drafts, Moffat still has to read them), plus Moffat is halfway through the opener. The scripts are Mathieson's and another writer, don't know who, but my best guess is Dollard.

Series 10 (or, conceivably, 'X') will likely kick off with Christmas 2016, introducing a brand-new companion. This'll be followed by a series of 12 eps sometime in spring 2017, probably a bit earlier in the evening.

Another possibility, though less likely, is a split series with 6 eps starting around October this year, Christmas in the middle, and then another 6 eps starting January.

Right now Capaldi is probably in the process of deciding whether he wants to stay for S11 - so the fans should stop asking him when he's leaving, he needs to know we want him to stick around!

Also, Moff will be looking for a successor, but it's anyone's guess who that might be.

Reminder that RTD was so autistic he decided to pause the big climax of Journye's End to explain why a character from a spinoff looked like a one-off from three years before.

The BBC is waiting for the BBC Studios to open and take control of the show to fund it privately sometime before June, meaning an increased budget. If they can start before May (meaning April), it'll be a split series, if they can't, the entire series will air in 2017. That's the current plan.

There are 2 scripts in (first drafts, Moffat still has to read them and send them back so the writers rewrite everything wrong), plus Moffat is halfway through the opener. The scripts are Mathieson's and another writer, don't know who, but my best guess is Dollard.
