The preconception of Ireland that you probably have in your head doesn't exist anymore. It ended in the early 2000s when the government brought in hundreds of thousands of economic migrants to fuel the housing bubble at the time. The expansion of the EU in 2004 made a bad situation even worse and now Polish is more widely spoken on the island than our native Irish language.

Thousands of years of culture flushed down the drain for a few quick shekels. This is veering into a political discussion so I'll leave it there. Pic related is a school in Balbriggan, a town north of Dublin.

You're either a foreigner or an idiot because you're conflating Catholics and Nationalists. Not all Catholics support a United Ireland the same way not all Protestants are Unionists. Many Catholic farmers in NI are happy with the status quo for economic reasons. Not to mention the growing distance between the more conservative traditional Irish in NI and the liberal progressive Irish in the Republic with their gay Indian leader.

I made no mention of unionism and loyalism. I wasn't conflating Catholics and Nationalists, and I'm fully aware that not all Catholics in NI are republicans. How the fuck did you get that from my post? OP said he wants to live around a bunch of Catholics like he currently does in Malta, and I merely said he shouldn't discount all of NI on that basis as much of it is heavily Catholic. I followed up my post because while Western NI tends to be more Catholic, OP needs to be sure he'll get a job, probably harder to do in the smaller cities and towns outside of the Belfast area which has a Protestant majority, so he might as well go to the Republic of Ireland. All of what I've said is merely on the basis of religious demographics. None of it was political.

Sure, maybe the economy isnt' that good as in the Uk or Ireland, but at least it's not a multiculti fag loving shithole like every other germanic/anglo country in europe right now, and people will be more similar to you in.. everything. Also, I'd get it if you want to move to London or some other big city in the Uk with jobs opportunity and fun things to do, but Ireland? I've been there and except for Dublin, that place is just empty. Amazing people and stunning landscapes, but still empty as fuck. There are more people in Rome alone than in the entire ROI and not really much to do at night, no wonder people just get drunk
