While /trv/ is usually very supportive of different forms of travel, it's a pretty common view that we don't really like people who want to travel but don't have the funds to. Look at the number of threads about the supposedly begging tourists in Thailand. While we all appreciate people who travel and encourage everyone to do so, there's an understanding that travel is privilege and unfortunately not everyone in the world has the chance to just set off and travel. One of the first lessons when it comes to traveling should be to only travel on the budget you can afford. If for example you have $2000, don't plan a 6 month trip around the US, maybe do some shorter trips closer to home or fly somewhere cheap and the next time when you have $6-10k you can travel a bit longer. Many of us here struggle to raise funds or find the time to travel.
