Can we have a Goa thread?
Planning to spend 7 nights in Goa with my girlfriend. We certainly enjoy partying, eating out, good beaches, sightseeing. We will be going in September.
1) Any nightlife recommendations? I am aware it will be off-season but we want to go to at least one proper rave / psytrance party. From my research so far Hilltop will be open weekends and fits the bill. And it seems like at Baga Beach they party 365 days a week.
2) I'm thinking right now of spending 4 nights in North Goa, then 3 nights in South Goa and enjoy a slower pace and quieter beaches, sounds reasonable?
3) Any must sees? Hidden gems?
4) Is it easy to cop weed? Prescription pills in the pharmacies (valium etc)? What about stuff like acid or mdmda? Or is not that hardcore?
5) Any other general protips or stuff to expect appreciated.

Why though? With a week you could see a lot more of India, and Goa is just an old seaside town, I don't even think the water is clean enough to swim in without getting Hep Z or something.

Otherwise I agree with you. I've been to India seven times but only spent a few days in Goa. I've no desire to go back - its nightlife is hilariously overrated.
Anyway, OP, Baga Beach sucks giant fucking dick. Bring your girlfriend there if you want her to get molested by horny Delhi boys trying to dance bhangra on her ass.
(to be fair, I didn't spend much time there - I took a scooter to Baga Beach and turned around after an hour. Boring as fuck, and a lot of the nice dance clubs charge ridiculous cover fees)
So far as drugs go, you should be able to find most substances fairly easily. Expect to get cheated on the price. Don't be a fucking retard, because the police will take advantage of you if they get an opportunity.
Some varieties of medicine are available without a prescription in pharmacies. I believe you can get Viagra easily, but doctors are quite hesitant to hand out Valium.
Also, beware: the dogs on the beach are downright terrible. They gather up in packs after sunset and will aggressively pursue and snap at you. It can be pretty intimidating unless you're in a large group or have a big stick and some stones. Definitely don't walk along the seaside at night unless you're prepared to deal with Cujo's South Asian relatives.
Sorry if I sound a bit aggressive. Even though I've visited seven times, my opinion of India has really slid downhill lately.

Tourism officials and state ministers in Goa absolutely hate the reputation they've acquired of being a hippie haven. A lot of hoteliers were complaining in 2014 about how they're attracting the 'wrong' sorts of tourists who abuse substances, don't spend money, and share one bowl of soup between three people.
Nobody is going to have sympathy for a drugged-up foreigner who gets hassled by the police.
