I'm Australian and live in London, been to over 30 countries, in my opinion, Paris is the worst city. I'm actually giving France another go, by visiting Bordeoux next weekend.

You don't even have to use Paris to fly into the country anymore. Boston to Gatwick, Gatwick to Beauvais and I can freely enjoy France like a normal person for half than it used to cost to fly direct to CDG.

Hopefully France one day gets their shit together and kicks this trash out, of their capital, but the rest of the country is as white as it's ever been.

On our quest to score some weed we where told to go to Ville De Bobigny. It was quite funny to see 4 white tourists walking around the area and the smile on the local teenagers faces ones we mentioned the word `weed`. And they kindly pointed out the flat we had to go too. Seriously i loved the city, beautiful women and not afraid to flirt.

Went to Paris a few years ago. Stayed in St. Germain, didnt see too many niggers or muslims. Only ones I saw were running around Eiffel Tower. The Orsay was phenomenal, highly recommend going, Louvre was too crowded to appreciate, and seeing 10000 paintings of the baby Jesus with Virgin Mary gets tiring. St. Michel has some nice cafes that aren't too expensive. Not sure if where I stayed had anything to do with how much I loved Paris, friends let me stay in an extra apartment they had, felt more like I was part of the neighborhood than going as a tourist.

When I was in Russia, the most violent event I noticed was a taxi driver making me pay 60€ to go from airport to city-center... Firstly, could you describe this Parisian culture and identity you are talking about ? The older one, supposedly disappearing, and the one replacing it please.

Secondly, how surprising is it that the capital city of such a dynamic country changed over the course of, as you said yourself, centuries ? As previous posters have pointed, I have the feeling that most foreigners think about Paris as this still image, forever crystallizing their preconceived and stereotypical vision of France and the French people. Paris is growing and changing everyday, it's the political, economical and cultural capital of France, I can't understand how it wouldn't change over time, both physically and culturally.
The most common arguments presented supporting this idea of a cultural violation are about the current state of St-Ouen/Clignancourt or Montmartre, and what can I say ? I wasn't browsing 4chan back then, I was a 100% centrist guy, pro-immigration, pro-liberal democracy, so none of what I am about to say stems from right-wing views.

The culture shock I got from seeing blacks and Arabs were the MAJORITY, on the RER metro, on the streets and on the parks and plazas was the GREATEST CULTURE SHOCK in my life.

I expected Paris to be the beautiful, cultured, fashionable capital we have been accustomed to seeing in movies and TV shows. The Paris that existed until the 1990s. The beautiful heart of European art and architecture.

Instead, it was a dirty city, with yes, beautiful buildings, but culturally I felt like a total alien. There was more Arabic being spoken on the metro than French. There were more kebab shops than patisseries. There were, Arab women all clad in full-body black veils walking next to the Eiffel Tower.

I had NO FUCKING IDEA it was going to be like that.
And it really changed me. I realized these people would never assimilate.
They were too many of them to assimilate. They didn't give a fuck about the culture that surrounded them. And they certainly did NOT BELONG there with their Islamic chanting and their veils.

For transport, just get a week-pass (prolly like 25€ for Paris + Suburbs ? insanely cheap considering back and forth to the suburbs is ~12€)
