Hi /trv/, /v/ here!
I recently found about this comfy board and since I'm really into travelling I thought I could rev up a new thread and ask few things away.
I'll be doing some charity work at Buenos Aires during Aug 1 - Sept 25. Nothing too demanding, but it provides shelter and lunch so there's that. First of all, any of you anons live there or will be there druing those dates? I've never met any anons but it could be fun. Also, some more questions;
>I'll have a steady income of 200 dollars per week with probably extra 400 per month. I've also saved up about 500 dollars. Would that be enough to eat and drink anything I want, whenever I want?
>I'm certain I can go to Uruguay easily since there seems to be a ferry, and I'm planning to get a plane ticket for Chile. Is it safe/easy to go to other neighboring countries such as Paraguay and Bolivia?
>Can people speak English?
>Is it safe to walk around at night (possibly drunk)?
Any and all advice are welcome too! Again, great and comfy board!

no, it's the capital of a developed country, $1200 a month discretionary spending will keep you entertained, but you wont be rich
yes, but you have to pay $160 to go to paraguay and bolivia, have to apply to enter paraguay unless you fly to asuncion
some, but don't expect them to, you'll have to pay more for services offered in english
it's a city of 8 million, is Chicago or LA safe to walk around drunk at night?

>I'm certain I can go to Uruguay easily since there seems to be a ferry, and I'm planning to get a plane ticket for Chile. Is it safe/easy to go to other neighboring countries such as Paraguay and Bolivia?
Paraguay and Bolivia are a little bit more dangerous than Argentina, but just keep your eyes always opened and everything will be fine. Your main worry will be Bolivian "paros" at its roads.
>Can people speak English?
As BBAA is a cosmopolitan city, it won't be difficult. But it is below average comparing to Europe.
>Is it safe to walk around at night (possibly drunk)?
At least when I did it in 2005 it was. But i don't think the situation decayed so much.
>Any and all advice are welcome too!
They said the best Argentinan alfajor is Capitán del Espacio.
