Anyone here get dual citizenship with Italy (as an American)? I recently found out that I qualify but I see there are a lot of both benefits (Euro passport!) and drawbacks (Italy goes to war and holds a draft...). anyone have experience with this?

Most countries that go to war hold a draft, usually. The real drawback is that I'm 100% sure that the national television will find a way to make you pay the annual tax, even if you live on the other side of the globe.

Also interested in this. I feel bad that I'd basically be using it to live in spain which I have more ancestry from and know the language better. Just don't qualify(they intermarried with only spanards but too many generations back feels bad). Edgy but I want to "decolonize" from America I fucking hate America most especially foreign policy I want nothing to do with it

How does it feel knowing you'll never be full Spanish xD knowing you didn't grow up like true Spaniards? Instead your steak being mostly a nationality you hate xD

I don't "hate" being American. Just hate my government and the 80% of people that suck there. I couldn't imagine being another nationality.
Denmark is pretty comfy(I've been) but you will probably never experience Zaxby's too bad the general culture of the US is so repugnant so I got out. The best thing that could happen is America get's balkanized but maintains an open society between it between different states so it can't exert the influence it has on the world.

Also I'm 50% spanish(other parts are italian and british I have a complete family tree so you can save the /pol/ memes), have family there I'm in contact with and am getting better with the language. 6 months living there I would be pretty much fluent and after a few years probably not have that bad of an accent. I have money and some skills to pump into the economy so it's not like I'd be a leech.

You're suposed to stay in your own cunt of nationality because you swear under oath that you will do so during the citizenship ceremony. Otherwise he is just bragging, mate

You've probably already covered this base but make sure that you really actually do qualify. I say this because I'm Italian-American, I looked into this and I don't qualify. If your ancestor naturalized as an American you probably won't qualify. For example, I thought I could get it through my great grandfather who came over from Italy, but he naturalized as a citizen before my grandfather was born so I don't qualify.
