December and March are the worst months to visit Buenos Aires, in that order.
If you are coming in december I'd say Iguazu falls, Patagonia or some other places in provinces like Cordoba and Mendoza that you'll find with a bit of research

I think he means they are shit. I can confirm, it's coastline but with cold and dirty sea
t. Argentinian
Depends what you want.
If you want cities: Buenos Aires, Rosario, Cordoba-Carlos Paz, Mendoza
If you want natural: Iguazu falls, Mendoza, Bariloche, Villa General Belgrano-La Cumbrecita, Puerto Madryn

Why do you think everybody and their mother goes to Uruguay in summer?
Argentina has miles of beach but the water is cold and dirty, the beach towns are shit, Mar del Plata has nothing and they are chock full of lower class Argentines.
Yes if you live there they are worth visiting for a weekend but paying thousands of dollars to visit Argentine beaches is just stupid.

i plan on spending a few thousand dollars but over the course of 4 months, would you recommend i go to uruguay if i want a nice relaxing beach town to live in for around a month ?

that's a shame, i'm still looking forward to exploring the coast. i like argentines and will hopefully just find places where the locals are friendly even if they don't have the best beaches
