I'm going to Australia on the 20th of June ($1600 for the round-trip flight and a 1-bedroom apartment for 12 days). I'm going to spend time with friends and go clubbing.
What should I know about the place? Is the alcohol expensive?
Why would you come to australia to go clubbing?

It's mostly the "friends" aspect of it, clubbing is just a bonus

Aussie here, Australia has the most expensive alcohol than any other country I've visited.
Whereabouts in Australia are you visiting? I hope not NSW because we have very tough restrictions with the sale of alcohol and lockout times for nightclubs.

Fuck off we are full cunt.
Honestly though drink is expensive as fuck here because it's a socialist hellhole. Full of sick cunts though. A pint at the pub will run you like $8 ish depending on the beer. Nightclubs like everywhere will be expensive as fuck. Drugs are expensive as fuck, a gram of coke is like $350 and it will be cut to shit.
But everyone here is a sick cunt so there is that. It's going to be an expensive trip cunt. Strap yourself in.

Yes alcohol is expensive by world standards. Buying it at venues is unavoidably expensive but buying from liquor stores is manageable. The price varies based on the type of alcohol due to different tax rates.
Beer is quite expensive, particularly anything decent. You can save a bit of money by shopping around and buying by the case.
Spirits are taxed highly and expensive, especially if you want anything half-decent.
Pre-mixed spirit drinks are taxed highest of all, just straight up avoid those.
Wine is quite affordable and your best bet if you just want to drink cheaply. You can get some actually decent wine for around $10/bottle if you choose a good brand. The cheapest of all is cask wine or 'goon', which can get you 4-5L for under $15. It gets a bit of a bad reputation but some brands are actually alright and if you mix with juice or soft drink (my suggestion is Pasito) it's drinkable. Downside is it's frowned upon for anyone other than students to drink.
