Has anyone here been to Gibraltar?
It doesn't sound great as a travel location but for some reason it's really intriguing me right now for. I just want to know what it's like to be there.

Why doesn't it sound great as a travel destination? I thought it was great and I plan to go back this year around September. What specificly did you want to know

it just sounded like a bit of an obscure place.
How did you spend your time there?
I did a day trip to it from Malaga last year. It's not really special and it's more expensive than the Spanish side. The monkeys on the mountain are pretty cool and you can see Africa if it's clear enough. I wouldn't want to spend much more time there though. I can't imagine how it's like for people living there. It's really small and expensive.

It's cool if you're interested in its historical and strategic significance. As a random sightseeing choice, there's just a big rock with monkeys and a road crossing with an airstrip, not much beyond that.
Personally I loved it, but your mileage may vary. It's definitely just a day trip though.
I grew up there, you do feel claustrophobic after a while.
I thought it was fucking awesome; I've been there twice. Every corner of the city was designed at some point by a naval or nautical person, so it feels like a pirate town with palm trees growing all around and monkeys running about.
Culturally, it feels like you've stepped into 1970's Britain, only populated by Spanish people.
Climbing to the top of the Rock at 4am to watch the sun rise is one of my favorite travel memories.
accommodation is super expensive though.
