Is there any place worth visiting in these states?
I never hear anything about them...

Chicago is in those states. I reckon Kentucky has Bourbon tour. Minneapolis if you are a funk or Prince fan. Detroit for auto and Motown. That's all I got.

>Is Detroit as bad as the memes say?
yes

parts of Detroit are, but I also had incredibly low expectations when I was visiting and had a blast.
You've never heard of Mount Rushmore? Or the Badlands of South Dakota?

>mount rushmore
literally the most commonly cited example of the "better off not visiting a tourist trap" phenomenon. you show up, get the same view you would from a postcard and then go. nothing else to do .
>badlands
dozens of better national parks worth visiting that are closer to anyone

SD and ND has cool outdoor recreation, less convenient and more isolated than say colorado
I think KY is great to see but I can see why others wouldn't agree
WV has nice mountains but its neighbors have better ones
MI idk maybe if you like cars autistically enough to do production plant tours and museums
IL if you're one of those faggots that thinks visiting cities is worth it then there's Chicago
The drive from Kansas City to Little Rock is amazing, great scenery, food, and atmosphere. The caves all around in Missouri are a sight to see to. We've got great food and other neat things here in Kansas City too, but I'm biased as a lifetime resident. Dangerous as hell around here, though, in lots of places
Anyone ever been to Hot Springs?
The Mitchell corn palace
