>Be Briton, in Canada for 2 weeks for holiday
>Go to any given local pub
>Size of an airplane hangar
>Bartender is ALWAYS female, looks/acts like a prostitute
>Television screens everywhere, behind bar, every corner, on walls, ceiling
>Cannot look in any direction without seeing TV screen
>Everyone is glued to the TV
>Most people wearing sport clothes or "dressed" as if they were working in their front yard
>Try to talk to someone, they become aggressive 9/10 times
>Outside of bartenders and waitresses, absolutely NO attractive women ANYWHERE
>Place reeks of fryer grease
Why are Canadian pubs so shit? The clubs are alright but I've literally yet to be in one pub that wasn't shit.
What sort of fucked up Central pub are you at. Try going to the local themed ones and not the ones that are flopped all over on the internet. Also, Go fuck yourself. Nearly every bar or pub in Canada has sport TV's. We don't dress up to go drink, I'm nearly convinced this is bait.
have you been to a legion?
>in Canada for 2 weeks for holiday

>Be Belgian, move to England for a job
>Go to any given local pub
>Size of an airplane hangar (seriously, even local pubs can be huge)
>Bartender is ALWAYS female, ugly as balls, looks/acts like a prostitute
>Television screens everywhere, behind bar, every corner, on walls, ceiling
>They even advertise outside with "All sports shown here"
>Cannot look in any direction without seeing TV screen
>Everyone is glued to the TV
>Everyone is English so wearing sport clothes or "dressed" as if they were working in their front yard
>Try to talk to someone, have a nice conversation with them 9/10 times
Have to give you that one
>Outside of bartenders and waitresses (often Polish), all women are English: absolutely NO attractive women ANYWHERE
>The entire pub + everyone in it reeks of fryer grease
>Belgian beers for fucking £6 upwards
>No-one knows how to pull a proper pint, be it lager or ale
>Why are British pubs so shit?
Those in glass houses oughtn't throw stones.

What city? As a Canadian, a LOT of pubs are corporate ones for boring suburbanites. I hate it too. There are good ones though. You have to be pointed there though. Go to Kingston.

By no means am I trashing Canada.
The clubs have been great, the girls beautiful, the people friendly as all fuck, food's good, and the prices have been low. It's been a stellar trip save for the pubs. Is it just a cultural thing? Like I know you lot are into ice hockey, is a pub just strictly somewhere men go to watch sport? Do you just do your socializing elsewhere?

You gotta go to some pile of shit pub instead of the established ones. A lot of "pubs" are really just chains.
