Post your nationality, and then your favorite and least favorite nationalities to encounter while traveling.

Me: American
Favorite: Germanbros. Sure, some German guys can have turboautism, but the normal ones are really adventurous and sometimes weird/strange but in a good way. And German girls are usually nice and have a sense of humor.
Least Favorite: Australians. The females can sometimes be ok but the men are, almost without exception, overgrown high schoolers who care about little else but binge drinking their way around the world. They've all got huge egos, regardless of how deserved it is too.
>>
American

Favorite: Australians, always chill as fuck and fun to hang out with

Lease Favorite: British. Always open the conversation up with some smug comment about America. Their women are abbo tier
>>
>>1197691
Me: Dutch
Fav: German. I never see a group of screaming drunk germans abroad. Can have sanctemonious vibe (hippies, extreme lefties). Thats mostly my fault, I like hanging out with those people.
Worst: French or Spanish. Cannot speak english, not even young people.
>>
Norwegian.

Best: Germans and Dutch, always fun to be around, and the girls are fun, also Finnish, binge drinkers but in a good way

Worst: French, clinically unable to speak about anything other than France and always stick to their own, and Japanese, just super weird people. Once shared a dorm with a Japanese dude in Riga, he was "travering Europe", he sat in his room all day on his computer, and left the next morning. Have met a few obnoxious Brits and Australians as well, though only when traveling in groups of 10 dudes, pub crawling their way around the world. Solo travelers seems to be fine.
>>
American

Favorite: Germans and Irish have always been the most fun for me. Jolly people and a good sense of humor. For some reason I always befriend Germans wherever I go.

Worst:
Australians in groups (when they travel alone they're great, in groups they're fucking morons)

Chinese/South Koreans because they stick together and never socialize with other people. They flood beautiful countries like Austria and Switzerland too much as well. Interlaken has signs and shit that are written in Korean because of it.

Met lots of French that play the "edgy cool kid" personality too much
>>
Me: Swiss
fav: dutch, australian
Least fav: american
>>
>>1198089
Also all the scottish people i've met have been the funniest ever
>>
I'm french.
I can't make a generality about a whole nationality. I guess there are good people and assholes everywhere.
>>
Hungarian

Favorite: Nordic, maybe Canadian
The ones I've met happened to be all chill and respectful

Least Favorite: Brits on stag parties
Spanish, they tend to be rude af, even when alone
Russians in groups are the worst (Chinese tour groups don't even come close), but can be very nice when alone

>>1198085
re Chinese/South Korean, I found the same when it came to younger people, but the Chinese/Korean grannies are always up for a chat, they're often bored with their groups

Canadian

Favourite: German, Austrian. Decently world-aware and fun generally.

Least favourite: Israelis, Chinese for being antisocial and unfriendly.

Americans are totally mixed bag. Some are German levels of cool, some are asshats.
>>
American

I agree with this feller >>1198106
but if I had to say, the Germans and French seem to be the most quiet and polite tourists around.

The absolute worst tourists are definitely the Chinese, those god damn loud-ass gooks have no manners and are incredibly odious in crowds.
>>
Murrican

>Japanese/German are my favorite
Pretty quiet, do not draw alot of attention

>FUCKING CHINESE ARE SCUM
Chinese people act like fucking animals, they are loud, they litter, they take pictures of nothing. I Swear they are ants, I really enjoyed china when I was there, their nuances were funny to watch as an outsider. However when you see them in other places you really can tell they are not human.
>>
German

Favourite: Any slavic country or Russia. I've been on several roadtrips down to eastern europe and I can't remember not having a good time with them.

Least favourite: Americans are kind of a mixed bag, you can either have a great evening or have everything go down the shitter. Also, the middle east. I don't know what it is but I never quite felt welcome there.
>>
Me: American

Favorite: Hard to say--most people are fine and inconspicuous. Canadians, South African (men), Kiwis. All very polite and chill.

Least favorite: Australian, Chinese, South African (women), French

The South African thing is so weird. I found the men to be very relaxed and nice, but all the women I met were just the most pompous, arrogant, posh, stick up the ass people I've ever met. Btw, I am talking about white South Africans. Anyone else feel the same?
>>
>>1197691

Me: American

Favorite: Canadians and Germans. Americans outside of Western Europe and SEA are usually alright and full of interesting stories.

Least favorite: The Chinese, Israelis, Indians, and Australians, in roughly that order. Indian solo travelers are usually pretty chill. However, when you're traveling in India itself, Indian domestic tourists are the fucking worst, especially if they're staying in a hostel or dorms. Super-noisy, disrespectful, and have no regard for anybody but themselves. The Chinese are usually just autistic no matter where they are or how many are in their group.

Americans on babby's first trip abroad to the UK or Thailand are usually arrogant, loud, and obnoxious.

Of course, I won't judge anybody based solely on where they're from. I've just had more bad experiences with travelers of those nationalities than others.
>>
I'm German and Brits are probably the worst. It never takes longer than an hour until a smartass britbong tells me "hurr durr at least we won the war"
Very original, haven't heard that one before.
I like nazi jokes as much as the next guy but this behaviour just makes it seem like all Brits have an inferiority complex.
>>
Me: Polish
Favorite: Spanish, been many times in Spain, they do not speak english, but I've never meet better peoples.

Worst: Hard to say, Austria propably. They are assholes.
>>
German

Favorite: East Europeans

Worst: Niggers
>>
Israeli

Favourite: Singaporeans, middle/upper class Filipinos, Indonesians, Malaysians, Russians and Slovakians can be ok

Least: Canadians (boring), most Europeans (especially Germans and Dutch) have a sanctimonious attitude

Neutral: American (annoying but at least they have personality)
>>
Belgian

Favourite: Germans. I've met weird/very silent ones, but never assholes. "Older" North-Americans (>25yo) have also been without an exception cool, laid-back, well-grounded people.

Least favourite: British lads. I live in the UK, so I see more than enough of the British working class already, thank you very much.

Though like another anon said, I've always liked most people I met.

>>1198978
>Anyone else feel the same?
I've only ever met 2, but they were alright. They were indeed slightly posher than most others, but then white South Africans are very aware of being the upper class.

Something else that popped into mind: has anyone ever met Chinese people in hostels? I *never* have, not even in meme destinations like Venice or Prague.

Yeah.

There was a Chinese guy staying at my hostel in New Delhi. He'd randomly flip the lights on in the middle of the night, shaved in bed, and kept accidentally knocking open water bottles onto the Indian guy below him.

Dude eventually snapped when he woke up covered in hair and had a water bottle leaking near his laptop. Almost tossed the Chinese guy out of the window and said he'd ripped his asshole out if he did it again.
>>
>>1199393
This. I have never met a Brit that did not attempt to make a subtly rude comment towards someone's country or character.
>>1199434
You must have not stayed in Austria or Switzerland. They are literally everywhere there.
Literally walked into the valley hostel in Lauterbrunnen and there was maybe 3 white people there and the kitchen smelled like a Chinese buffet. Very disappointing because they destroy the atmosphere of nice hostels.
>>
>>1199434
I've met a few Chinese in hostels. Some in Prague, some in London, some in Berlin. The ones who get to Europe seemed really scared of what was going on. (Chinese tourists in Chinese hostels were just normal, mostly chatty and fun, and surprisingly quiet during the nighttime.)
>>
Me: Finnish
Favorite: Norwegians, Swedes, Germans, Japanese
Mixed: Russians
Least favorite: Brits can be quite rude and obnoxious, Chinese are terrible in almost every way, Americans leave a poor impression often
>>
>>1197691
Me: Uruguayan
Fav: Germans, Australians.
Least fav: young brits. Never had a good experience with those.
>>
Me: britbong
Fave: Germans are always decent same with italliens. Can't say I've had a bad experience with either of those two, also Nordics and Dutch are usually good laughs

Least fave: French, rude and obnoxious always felt like they're looking down on everyone. Chinese, rude, arrogant and literally always manage to massively fuck up or do really stupid shit. Ie going to a beach but not being able to swim, proceed to struggle in rough currents (amount of times I've seen this is beyond belief). Ignoring signs or just wandering off into dodgy areas, even back in blighty i see this and it pisses me off how little respect they have for any host country. Also many I've met are borderline autistic in terms of being loners or just odd social habits.

Americans are a mixed bunch, met complete idiots and some great people. Had one mate from Boston who was a total Bro and always a cool story. Some couple from n let York who knew shit about England and basically needed mothering for several days just by being sheer retards.

Sweden.

Favourites: Finns and Slovenian. I only know finnish male students but they always makes one laugh, regardless of the situation.
Slovenian are just super polite and friendly. Could definitely settle down there in the future.

Least: Chinese. Not a big fan of brits either. Theyre seldom open-minded. French people as well. You end up hanging out and some of them arent comfortable with english.

Mixed: Americans, Germans and Spanish.

Americans act like theyre running to be the next president. If you neglect this, americans are pretty great.
I've met some german people and it's really a hit or a miss. Some of them are great. But some were just awfully boring.
Spanish are super friendly but once youre not part of the circle youre some sort of enemy.
>>
Brazilian.

Favorite: Dutchs.
Least Favorite: Australians and Chinese.

>>1198978
>Anyone else feel the same?
You know, when you meet people outside their country, you are meeting travelers and they will act like travelers. One friend of mine lived in Australia and said that they are very educated and polite, but if you go to any SEA country and meet them, they will be the worse tourists. Like she said "They think 'This is not my country, so fuck off'".

I have meet South Africans (both men and women) in Europe and South Africa and I have nothing bad to talk about them. In fact, I have meet a lot of great people.
>>
Me: German

Favorite:
>Swiss and Austrians are total bros
>Scandinavians are pretty cool although their accents are fucking hideous
>American guys are usually able to hold decent conversations
>South Americans because they are geniously interested in you if you speak their language
>British guys are cool

Indifferent
>Dutch
>French
>East Europe: I only met girls that traveled and they seemed to be a bit stuck up but ok
>Italians
>Arabs
>Indians

Least Favorite:
>Israelis (now I understand a lot) are the scum of this earth.
>Germans seem to be autistic 18-25 year olds that have no idea how the world works
>Australians
>American girls that talk in their annoying voices (LIEK REALLY OMG SO AMASSSING)
>Canadians (lol i'm canadian so kool we are better than amerika haha)
>Asians for snoring like fucking tractors
>>
>>1200326
Forgot to add that Indian/Asian-Americans are absolute shit and uninteresting people that seem to think they are special snowflakes. Generally I can't stand most of the girls I met. They seem to be naive in 99% of the cases. For example I was in Colombia on the beach with a Swiss girl and we were talking to this Brazilian couple who complained to us about Dilma and Socialism in South America. She couldn't stop complaining to me the rest about to the day that is so weird that there are racist right wingers in South America that don't like socialism. And how that's possible if they are all mixed to begin with. Like no political or sociological understanding at all.

Also the virtue signaling from Americans in general is horrible. They always bring up politics. And the guys, when I asked them about the elections could never ever state who they would vote for "hehe so Clinton is horrible and Trump well hehe I don't think he could become president".

I'm English

Fav:
>couldn't say
>Polish & German people are pretty ok
I wouldn't say any particular nationality was more appealing to me or I'd noticed them being better in some way, although it remains to be seen after more travel.

Worst:
>Icelanders: come across as being exasperated with you from the second you begin talking to them, like they're just humouring you, but they're ok mostly.
>Chinese: for all the reasons people have said, a bit unpleasant and VERY rude, which is something I can't handle.
>English: many people will feel my pain of having none of the annoying traits of your nationality that gives them a bad name with others, I'm not trying to be a special snowflake, but English people make me cringe adn i don't feel any pride for the UK. ALWAYS with the football songs, I hate football.

Everyone else who has rubbed me the wrong way abroad have been varied nationalities so no more definitive ones.
>>
Me: Polish/Canadian
Favourite:
>Polish - Usually the Polish people who travel are the best Poland has to offer. Scum only go on holidays to Turkey or Bulgaria, so the Poles you meet in other parts of the world are amazing people. This kind of goes for people from all of Eastern Europe though.
>Germans - Well, here's the thing, there's so many of them that you can easily pass by the crap ones and hang out with the good ones.
>Belgians - For some reason every one I meet from there has been awesome in some way.
Least Favourite:
>Canadians - Fuck, why you do this to me bros? I swear, every time I meet Canadians when traveling they turn out to be douches or when they hear I'm also from Canada they start acting like they don't want to be around me any more. Yeah cause you're so fucking cool for wanting to hang out with Brits in Australia over hanging out with someone also from Canada.
>Americans - One word: Douche.
>French - Speak no fucking English and always look out for other French people so they can speak French with them. Also very rude, especially when it comes to the language thing, like they will form a French speaking group and exclude everyone who doesn't speak French around them. They also always ask for things...can I have a cig? can I have some of your alcohol/weed? take your food without even fucking asking.
>Australians - So far the only people I met who have robbed other travelers while traveling themselves. It happened multiple times as well. Scum.
>>
Filipino

Fave: nordic people. Theyve got a weird sense of humor that i like, especially the fins. Most are also just bros in general who you can have a relaxed conversation with and the girls are super nice and well traveled. Adventurous bunch, although i definitely meet more swedes than anyone else in this group.

Australians traveling alone are also pretty cool. Always down for something crazy

Least favorite: chinese for the same reason as everyone else. Spanish and italians dudes can be sleazy

Bonus: southeast asian people on the road are usually interesting. I dont get too meet a lot of them because we dont have a lot of backpackers traveling the world
>>
Me: Danish
Favorite: German, Dutch, Norwegians, Swiss.
Least favorite: American, Indians, Asians in general
>>
french

fave:american, very chill and friendly for the few i met, russian aslo very friendly and if you break the glass you can have great time with them and good laugh

Favourite:
I've loved meeting people from every country in the world. Since the Aussies are getting a lot of stick here, I'll say that I find their humour and mentality very similar to ours and I've enjoyed spending time with a lot of different people from there.

Worst:
Never personally been bothered by the Chinese.
Russians and English can be loud and annoying if you go to certain destinations, but also met some great people from those countries.
On my Erasmus stay I guess I was a bit disappointed by the Spanish. Some cool individuals, but generally they stuck out as being insular and very bad at English. I was surpised by the difference in skills between them and Italians.

>>
Merica

Favorite: Probably everyone that I met. I liked everyone. Partied with some cool French folks. Smoked a joint with an Aussie. Good times

Worst:
Didnt really have any trouble. I've only been to Paris and Amsterdam and I never had any trouble. Although, when I went to Amsterdam, some Brit was trying to pick a fight with a local kek. Some Chinese were a bother, mostly loud though
>>
Finnish

Favorite: Murikans, Japanese, Polish

Never had any problems with any nationality in particular, there's assholes everywhere. That being said, I've encountered way more dutch people than anyone else, meaning I've also met more dutch assholes than people from anywhere else. But they're usually okay, especially if they're not from Amsterdam
>>
Me: Australian
Favourite: Irish. Usually completely doe eyed and blown away by whatever they are encountering and always friendly.
Worst: Aussies. They think because they are overseas they can act like idiots and people will think it's funny. I hate them and they always try and find common ground with me. I give them nothing.
>>
brit here, havnt really been anywhere other than france alot
fav: french people are cool in my experience. had a big voyage around paris in early hours of the morning, met this big group of young people hanging out near the eiffel tower, very chilled out. gave me a bag of weed for free, nice people.
i've never had issues with chinese people, my ex was half chinese/english though and her mum really disliked me for unknown reasons.
russians are cool, at uni got very drunk with with one rus, he took me back to his place, bought me a mouse, and we proceeded to play counterstrike all night.
all asian peeps i've met have been cool and very friendly.

my least fav is actually my own nationality, brits.
there are so many idiots here who live there lives purely to binge drink at the weekend and act like dickheads. alot of the girls are slutty. the older people are lifeless and clueless alot of the time.
there are obviously exceptions, and some really beautiful english girls out there with stunning personalitys. but its just the drinking culture, really sucks.
i live near clacton, a very deprived area, and walking through town is an utterly depressing experience. so many drug addicts, old skeleton people, morons, and retards.
i went up to london the other month, and in the evening everywhere was just crowded with drinkers, rowdy types. going on a bit of a rant here..
i wish our country had a more romantic outlook on things, but also more liberal in a sense. not in an anooying fashion, but certainly not as conservative and traditional as we currently are.
every town centre looks identical, and very few people will open up to you unless a pint is involved. i think it's ridiculous people were allowed to vote on something as big as the EU when the majority of the nation are uninformed and unquestioning, just flat out stupid.
i am leaving this place permanently in a few monthes time, and dont intend to come back.

Favourite: Probably Swedes. In general they are friendly people and easy to get along with in my experience.

Least Favourite: English. I've met way too many Englishmen (almost all men) in random countries on my travels who gave me shit just for being Irish. Some were outright hostile but most are kinda two-faced about it. All smiles one minute, then shifty looks and snide remarks the next. This phenomenon is exacerbated by alcohol.

Belgians just seem to be really nice people. The ones I've come across have been super helpful and friendly, great people to travel with because they get along with everyone right off the bat. When I was in Belgium people were really friendly to me as well, more than I expected them to be.

I don't have any particular stories but I met this one Belgian girl 2 years ago and I've been emailing with her since then just talking about life and travels and possibly meeting up at some point this year to travel together again. I've come across many people on my travels and no one ever keeps in touch like this after so long (other than these 2 Polish girls I met but that's a different story :P). I currently have a Belgian roommate who's a great guy as well.

Intradesting thread, somebody should compile the results into a chart or something.

Bulgarian.

Enjoying the company of all:
Brits/Aussies/Germans

Brits is the most I've met, both in quantity and age range. From 18 to 81, they were the most interesting and friendly to me, well-spoken English in a foreign land can be very relaxing.

Mixed bag:
Americans, most were great, few douchey.

American

Favorite: Americans and Canadians. Generally down to have a good time in the same manner that I do.

Least Favorite: Indians. Everything inevitably turns to the fact that they're Indian. We could be talking about bobble heads and the conversation will, without fail, steer towards the subcontinent at some point and remain there indefinitely.

Disclaimer: I've met shitheads and awesome people from all walks of life and countries. In general I've had good experiences with everyone.
>>
Dutch

Fav: Germans

Shite: American women, the way most of them speak rustles muh jimmies in the worst kind of way. Like seriously
>>
Danish.
Germans and Finns are probably my favorites - they're open without being loud, helpful without being pushy and in general know how to read the mood and know when people want or don't want them.
My least favorite are firmly Americans, Australians and Koreans. Americans and Aussies are two sides of the same coin - both are loud, entitled and casually dismissive of everything that isn't their own culture. Americans tend to be shrill, sanctimonious and thin-skinned, while Australians are proud of being retarded, obsessed with drinking and almost gleefully shit on locals and their country.
Koreans literally act like non-Koreans are air or insects. They don't acknowledge them, they don't interact with them, they don't respect them and they act smugly entertained when someone confronts them for getting in the way, talking endlessly and loudly on the phone, eating messily or otherwise just acting like the world is their own private amusement park.
Also, I have to agree with >>1202188 - American women abroad, all as one, have a grating, shrill way of speaking, and are almost all preachy, sanctimonious and holier-than-thou. When I overhear their conversations, they're almost always spreading backhandedly racist lies and stereotypes to their travel companions while acting like they're better people for coming there and saving the locals.

This and other comments like it make me sad to be an American. I'm going to Europe for the first time next year, and because of this thread, I'm excited to hang out with people and just not be an asshole, and hopefully swing the balance back a little bit (even though this country's culture does suck dong).

Anyone else excited to be a representative of their country when they visit other places? I think it's a pretty neat thing about traveling.
>>
>>1202206
Don't worry anon, >>1202199 seems to be incredibly pretentious. Everyone wants to shit on America and Americans. It's all a part of being numba 1

Realistically, if you get groups of college aged people from upper middle class families- this description of "Loud, entitled, casually dismissive of everything that isn't their own culture" seems to be found more in Western European countries and your typical SEA countries as they tend to be babby's first steps into culture and travel. However I can agree that rich American women are probably the snobbiest of all.

I never try to befriend Americans, Brits, or Australians in groups because they are like this a lot.

German here

Favorite: East europeans, while they often get super smashed, mostly they are peaceful and if you hang with them they are usually very open
Isrealis. The ones I met were pretty chill and a lot friendlier towards me as a german than most jews living in germany. They also know how to party.

Least favorite:
Frogs. Can't speak english always have their noses up and think of themself as something better.
Chinese. Generally very noisy and rude people.
Indians. Like the chinese but also with bad body odor and somehow whenever someone throws up in an airplane it's an indian.

Mixed bunch:
Japanese. While they are almost always very polite towards other travellers, they are often very rude and demanding towards hotell staff.
British. The younger brits can be very loud and annoying, but the older travellers are usually up for a good conversation.

Britbong.

Favourites:
>Polish
Generally really nice and capable of having good banter with, always up for a joke. Tend to be quiet.

>Canadians
Chill as fuck, seem like the genuinely care too and want to have a good conversation

>Burgers
Depends where they're from/political leanings, usually they're outspoken but honest which I appreciate. A lot of the times they seem naive about culture outside of the US but it's cool to teach them.

>Aussies/Kiwi's
Good for bants, except when in large crowds. Fucking criminals.

>Scandinavians
Self explanatory. Down to earth and chill people

Worst:

>French
Fucking frogs, refuse to speak English and are completely arrogant in everything they do.

>Spanish
The BRs of Europe; dirty, slimy people who will steal your wallet then try and chat up your mum.

>Chinese
Wouldn't be so bad if there weren't fucking hundreds of them in such a small area. They seem to swarm.

Depends on the person:

>Brits
Only if they're the binge drinking #lad types. Find a brit on their own or a small older group and they're lovely. Otherwise avoid the typical normalfags whose idea of a holiday is "fukin sik m8 gunna smash it up in magaluf #ladsholiday"

>Irish/Scots
Can either be absolute cunts or complete bros, no middle ground.

>Italians
A combination of why I hate French and Spanish all in one. Except some are actually lovely and will accommodate you as if you were family.
>>

(Asian) American burgers

Faves: Brazilian, just this one guy I met while traveling was quite an enthusiast and always try to learn the local language.
german: can be quite and thick-skinned to get through, but become very friendly once they open up after a few beer.
SE and hong kongners A: they are friendly in general if you approach them, and very welcome you because they enjoy company, but are typically voiceless and will take initiative during first encounter.
Aussie: one is good enough

Mix: like >>1202199, I've met a lot sanctimonious in and outside of the USA. You can have some great time with them during the first few hours or more, then the magic will just disappear the next day when they started to get too comfortable around you.
Japanese and Korean: quiet in general, sadly most are too shy to talk, and the conversation will most likely end in one sided and awkward silence. Korean tend to look down at other Korean and Asian travelers from my experience.

least faves:
I am maybe bitter, but most young 'travelers' are the thorns to my side, especially Biritbongs and western EU youngster.

Me: German

Favorites: Germans, Austrians, Swiss, Dutch, Danes, Swedes, Finns, Norwegians

Mixed: Israelis, Australians, Americans
Groups of traveling ex-soldier Israelis, drunken Aussies, or frat Americans are the WORST. However, I've met individuals from these countries that are absolutely beyond bro tier.

Least Favorite: Brits, Chinese, Indians/Pakis, Koreans, many Americans

Brits because everytime;
>"ha you focking jerries ow meny times I oughta tell ya we won the bloody fockin war so stop speaking kraut"

Chinese because they are the most rude, inconsiderate people I have every met. They're the type to come in at 2:30am, rustle through plastic bags until they find their Prada pajamas, sit on their phones until 4am, and then throw a bitch fit when you try to brush your teeth at 9am. Also they litter everywhere.

Indians/Pakis because they're always solo traveling 35y/o men that say shit like
>"hey pretty lady i really like ur panties where you buy them from want to buy some beer with me i know good place around corner please we go there and then i cuddle you later ok??"
Oh and they're usually wasted off of half a beer.

Koreans because they always stick to their groups and never ever communicate with others in the hostel even though I know they can speak English just fine. I'll try to ask them how their travels are going and they'll look at the ground and say "mhm" and then walk over to their group to speak quietly in Korean while the whole group then turns and gives you the stink eye. I can't say much about Japanese because they usually can't speak a word of English.

Americans because;
>"hey dude so like I just hit up stacy and them and they're like going to this bar on that one cool street and shit and wanted to know if we were coming after that she said we could go to another bar on the other side of town but like jessica said they wanted to go see that weird monument thing tomorrow I think it's called the tower of eiffel or something shit's cash"

Chinese - dirty, pushy, innumerable hordes. More like cockroaches than people.
>>
American

Favorite: Irish and Kiwis always seem t be up for a drink and laugh. The Dutch seem pretty nice as well.

Have you never met Chinese people before? Have you never come across Chinese tourist groups?

They're just very rude, their culture, or lack thereof is what makes them seem like uncivilized animals. When they travel in groups they also really really bother people they come across.

I'll give you an example. I was traveling in Arizona recently and went to Horseshoe Bend. Beautiful spot, one of the most interesting places you'll come across. You get there however and there's like 3 buses filled with Chinese tourists screaming their fucking heads off so when you actually reach this beautiful spot it's non stop noise from these fuckers. Everyone else is quiet and enjoying the scenery while they scream their heads off for no fucking reason whatsoever.

Worst: From the people i've seen, Irish, Chinese, Aussie.
Like: Americans and most hispanics are pretty chill, Most europeans save for Irish people.
Awkward: Meeting other Canadians, Sexpats.

Irish people are the bane of my existence, I've traveled all across Europe and they are by far the least kind people i've ever seen. I have literally seen more behaved Africs. The Irish are constantly ruining everything for everyone with constant drinking, Making a horrible mess. And generally being unfriendly to anyone who looks at them.

I like meeting other Canadians or Americans abroad. It makes for a really good talk or two and generally a chill beer or two on a bus or a boat. Hispanics are like this too, I see lots of spanish people in Zambia and shit and they are by far the most kind people i've ever met. They will literally take you into their home if you can speak spanish and you will be treated like family.

It's really awkward seeing liberal people in Africa too, Because every time you do see them they're constantly berating any white people they see. They're kinda disrespectful but at least they won't spit in your face and demand that you do shit that they ask like Irish and British people do.

Fave: Dutch, American and Brazilians

Least Fave: Americans, Spanish.

You may ask why Americans are listed twice; from my experience theyre the nationality with the biggest range between self-entitled prick that complains about McDonalds employees not speaking english in the country on one end of the spectrum, and super well educated, open, friendly, good sense of humour on the other.

Fave: German, always willing to have a quiet beer and shoot the shit and let conversation meander without too much seriousness.

Least Fave: Chinese, passive aggressively patriotic, no understanding in my experience of when to end a conversation through obvious clues such as "yes I have my headphone in and am watching a film, because you're next to me on this plane does not force me to talk the whole flight with you". Also had bad experiences with large groups of Chinese on flights with them clogging all the stowaways and refusing to admit they have to put the luggage in the under haul and delaying my fucking flight on several occasions.

Worst: For some reason most Brits I've encountered had a weird vibe about them. The Spanish always speak with twenty decibels above the normal volume for conversation, no matter if they're on a plane, on the street or in a dormitory. Arabs always preach about the sins of the country they're visiting. Most Asians are not interested in socializing.

Travelers from big countries are a mixed bag, of course. I've met a lot of great Americans, but also a lot of douches. The Chinese are without exception extremely autistic.

Every Irish/scottish person I've met has had absolutely top class banter. I tend to drink a lot as well so it's always great to have company. Americans are usually quite warm/friendly and it's nice to have a good chat in English if you're far away from home.

>>
Me: American, traveled and lived mainly in Asia.
Favorite: Belgian, Netherlands folk, Japanese, Taiwanese. Japanese are polite and often seem too quiet and reserved but that is partly their culture and partly because they statistically have the lowest English aptitude of almost any developed nation. I learned Japanese to a pretty decent level like a true neck beard so being able to speak with them changed everything. Once they know they have someone to speak with they'll open right up and old Japanese travelers are fucking hilarious and awesome. One of my favorite travel experiences was staying at a hostel in Taiwan for a few weeks with post retirement aged Japanese ladies who had both lost their husbands and now traveled off their pensions. Once I shocked them with a bit of Japanese they basically adopted me as a grandchild until I moved on lol.

Worst: Australians and Chinese. I really want to say Americans but the reality is all of the bad stereotypes you typically hear about American travelers is much more applicable to Australians. The shitty thing is lone Australians are typically cool as hell but god damn it if there are a group of 3 or more of you under the age of 25 there is a 95% chance I'm going to feel like nuking the whole of Australia by the end of the night. I'm completely fine with it when in a complete tourist party shit hole area of a country but holy fuck you guys don't know when to turn it off when you're outside of those places. Mainland Chinese = travel fail boat on every level even though again I get along with them pretty well outside of a travel context.

Most misunderstand: French. They're fucking assholes but what you have to understand is that they are assholes to everyone, including other French people, so if you learn to not take it personally I've actually found them to be pretty damn cool once you break through that initial wall.
>>
>>1205028
>Gypsies(yes, racism)
Is it actually considered racist or bigoted to hate gypsies?

Theft & scams are literally an essential component of their culture. How can anyone respect a culture like that?

The Japanese like to bow to the people they greet, and they handle everything with both hands, even tiny things like business cards.
Indians greet each other with their palms pressed against each other, and some of them wipe their asses with their left hands.
Canadians say "eh" a lot and apologize for things they aren't directly at fault for.
Gypsies lie, cheat, and steal, and they have no identity unless they do these very things.

I don't think it's unreasonable or racist to dislike gypsy culture.

Me: Canadian

Fav

Canadians, Dutch, Nordics are usually very polite and open. Americans come in different flavours but I generally like having an american around. Germans are also nice but can be autismo and weird but still enjoyable to have around.

Spanish are also enjoyable to have around but good luck sticking to a time table with them. The problem is 10x worst with Latin Americans. All in all, good to talk and meet at a hostel.

Every brazillian ive met have also been hilarious

Worst

Australians and to a slightly lesser extent english people are like locust. 1-3 of them around is fine and enjoyable but anymore and they become a nightmare. Loud and obnoxious and all around disrespectful to the locals and their customs. Also obsessed with getting as shit canned as possible. I mean, they can do whatever they want with their travels but I try to avoid them when i can.

Chinese from the mainland also behave rather barbarically and I am ethnically Chinese as well. It boggles me to think of the large culture gap between us.

Mix

-Asians (non China) in general stick to their own but generally are quiet and politce
-Isrealis can be kind of dicks but I know theyre just playing around
-French are also like the east asians, very closed and stand offish

Aussie here as well.

I know the feel, and the first time I walked around in Europe with a bottle in my hand felt so alien to me I kept unconsciously trying to make it clandestine, even after being reminded it was all good.

That being said, a disproportionate amount of Aussies in groups act like total fuckwits, and that's due to our culture; namely that we glorify sport i.e. competition, always have to push everything to it's absolute limits (to get a true sense of where the real boundary is) and downplay the importance of intellectualism in society.

Just because it's a novelty to us and you can essentially "get away" with more, particularly in developing countries, doesn't mean you should. A lot of young Aussies haven't developed any sense of self awareness and how their loud, obnoxious behaviour makes others feel, or how it makes us look from an objective outsider perspective.

I know it's important to express yourself openly, and generally you shouldn't care about what other people think about how you live your life, but Aussies in groups (particularly when they've had a few) have a piss-weak ability to read the vibe of a place and act accordingly. I hear a lot of Aussies heap shit on Americans for similar reasons when i'm travelling, but Aussies have an unmatched ability to dominate the energy of a room and make it about them. This may seem funny (and sometimes on occasion, it is) but when your behaviour is both upsetting/intimidating to other people, you should probably dial it in a bit, and be a bit mindful of the vibes you're REALLY putting out. I have seen so many Australians/Brits in lads groups/packs fail to do this, again and again and again, which is why I generally try and avoid them now.

And don't get me wrong, i've been this guy too when I was younger. But when you 25+, fuck it's cringe worthy to watch some of the shit that goes on.

Canadian

Best: is really down to the individual

Worst:

Americans from the Midwest/south: seems to be a lot of closeted gays from those areas, can be very creepy and aggressive towards people they think are gay.

Anglo women from wherever: always ready to give lessons, criticize complete strangers, nag nag nag. I know why the Anglo male drinks: it's because his balls were cut off at birth.
>>
>>1206071
I got assaulted by an Anglo woman when I was in Hong Kong.

Not by non-anglo whites, not by Asians, not by brown people, hell, not even by black people.

As an adult, I would think you'd have let kids come and stand in front of you. Doesn't mean someone should shove you, of course. Did you offer to step aside and let them in front of you?

I did at least let them in front. The kids did nothing wrong, it was just their bitch mother who could've been a little more couth about it.

I didn't escalate the situation. As beta as that sounds, once again, her kids don't deserve to see any conflict.

Me: Turkish

Favorite: Italians. We as Turkish people are so much warmer and friendly compared to western people. I'm not saying this as a good or a bad thing, it's just how it is. We tend to bond on a deeper level and act much friendlier. Western guys seem to have a superficial and kind of a cold sense of relationships. Italians are pretty much like us Turkish people. Almost all of the Italians I met were so nice and friendly, we had awesome time.

Least Favorite: Arabs I think. Had some very close Arab friends too but in general dudes are creepy as fuck and almost always have an agenda. I've had so many guys who acted as a friend and when I'm flirting with a girl and its going well, first they tried to steal her from me because they are too much of pussies to approach for themselves then when they fail and the girl stays with me, they tried to cockblock me. Like, wtf? They aren't cool and creep me out.

Burgerlander

Fav: Aussies, Nucks and Bongs because of the cross culture banter and familiarity with sarcasm.

Worst: Australians, Canadians and British, because they tend to open with the same sanctimonious "You dumb Americans, we so much smarter" routine. Then you remind them how stupid their politics and culture are and they back down.

Mixed bag with everyone else.

Me: Cuban American

Favorites:
* Canadians - Warm and personal. Always apologizing but hey they are sensitive creatures.
* Filipinos - Ugly as fuck, but they're always fun to hang around with. I also find them unusually Westernized compared to other Asians.
* Irish - They always make you feel at home.

Mixed:
* Fellow Americans - With so many cultures and biomes, no two Americans think alike.
* Latin Americans - VERY MIXED bag here. Brazilians are OK, Central Americans are usually friendly but their IQ can swindle wildly from pseudo intellectual to borderline retarded. Most Cubans are incredibly dumb regardless of race, and the few that aren't are very Jew-y but successful. I strongly dislike Mexican nationals regardless of race because of how pompous they are, but Mexican-Americans are for the most part cool.
* Middle Easterners: This varies heavily on what part of the Middle East they are from, but the general vibe I get is that they are friendly though very creepy (men). They can sometimes carry a personal agenda. The best I can describe them is that they're a lot like Jews but nowhere near as smart.
* Germans: Can keep up with any conversation but the autistic creepiness they give off can be a little too much for me.

Dislike:
* Israelis - Some of the smartest people I've met have all been Jews, and the few Israelis I've met have all been Ashkenazi. But holy cow, they are such a selfish self-centered bunch. I always get the impression that you can never engage in any intellectual conversation with an Israeli because they feel that they're wasting their neuron firing since they're not getting paid. Have no concern about anyone other than themselves.
* Aussies - As someone pointed out earlier, they're all a bunch of frat boys / sorostitutes.
* Most East Asians - Not sociable in the least. They strike me as more morally conscious than most other ethnicities though, but you'll never know because communicating with them is near impossible.

Wow.

As a french guy, i'm quite shocked that everyone think that we're just a bunch of arrogant twat who never speak english, it make me a little sad to be honest.
When i'm abroad, i always try my best to be respectful and speak in english with the people i live or interract with...
Hope you'll have a better experience with frenchies in the future.

To answer this thread :
- fav : i don't really have favorites kind of people, i always had great experiences with all kind of nationality, i've met italians, japanese, americans, brits, german etc, i'd say the ones i had better experience were anglo (scottish/irish) and germans.

- least : Chinese, as everyone already said, they're loud, they invade your personnal space, they're quite dirty (some of them just whipped their but and left the toilett paper full of shit on the ground) and steal food, i hate them.

Nationality: Dutch

Favorite: Germans. Although Dutch people like to pretend that they hate Germans, they all secretly like them. Germans are great people, friendly, speak English very well and they also are very social. It's mostly Germans and Scandinavians I enjoy the most when I'm abroad.

Least favorite: French and Chinese. French are not as bad as Chinese people, since there are still a lot of nice French people, but Chinese are extremely annoying. They just seem completely unaware of their surroundings, have no social manners and are really loud. I'm still open to meet nice Chinese people but so far my impression of them is very bad.
>>
Swedefag here.

Dead chuffed about most of you here liking us Scandifags. I don't like us so much, but we do behave sensibly, when sober. I guess that counts for something.

Happy about Germans and the Dutch and other civilized central Europeans.

Have my doubts about South European hive-mind move-in-groups-loudmouths Spanish.

Aussies are a mixed bunch. Some bros, some cunts. It is peculiar with that infantile anti-intellectual thing going there, or maybe it is just that pleb work pays well there, so their shit-heads manage to travel.

Pissraelis are 99% shit. Oy vey.

I'm American.

Least favorite: Chinese, Australians, and Germans

You can probably guess why for the Chinese and Australians. Everyone here seems to like Germans but they are awful in Thailand. Seeing them blasting a portable speaker on top of the Tiger Cave Temple in Krabi while a monk was up there praying was a fucking joke.

I like the Japanese, Dutch, English, and French.
>>
I am British.

I generally get on well with Germans and Austrians, though I find Germans to be slightly naive at times.

The only people I make a point of avoiding are Australians. They will talk to you about Australia constantly. I have never been to Australia but over the years I must have met about half of its population, all of whom were very keen to tell me about Australia. The Irish do this, too, somehow expecting you to be in awe that they are from Ireland.

All that said, Brits in ski resorts are possibly the worst people on the planet.

British (English)

>Favourite
Germans - Contrary to the stereotype, I found most of them to be very funny. I got talking to some German guys in a bar and they ended up talking me to some warehouse in Berlin where there was a rave going on, great night, never had any issues with other Germans abroad.

American Men - Very friendly however I have noticed that a lot of them needed to basically be babysat everywhere they go. I've met many while travelling Europe and they all seem to be completely lost everywhere they go. I don't count that as a negative though, I just thought it was odd.

Older Brits - I'm probably biased here but I find that older people from my country are very polite from what I've seen and they genuinely seem interested about the places they visit and their food instead of just trashing the place, drinking at English pubs and eating fish and chips every day.

Kiwis - Like calmer Australians, always up for a party but seem to be able to handle their drink much better, they know their limits.

>50/50 Can be great or terrible
Australians - They can either be the best lads you'll meet on holiday or they will be like a fucking hurricane of trouble. You're literally rolling a dice every time you speak to one.

>Worst
French - Very arrogant, flat out refuse to speak English even when I always make the effort to speak a bit of French when I can. The older French people are nicer but the majority I have encountered have given off very negative vibes and even gave me dirty looks for absolutely no reason.

Young Brits - There's no hiding the fact that we are terrible abroad. Many flights and package holidays to other European countries are VERY cheap so it attracts the dregs of our society to spread their disgusting attitude and behavior across to our neighbors.

Chinese - Rude, won't even acknowledge you at all, they throw litter everywhere, they're loud as fuck, their culture is basically "every man for himself, fuck everyone else" Disgusting
>>
Finnish here.

For some unknown reason the Irish have become my soulmates abroad. I'm a drunk dudebro but I still keep my shit together without being obnoxious, loud or rude, and in my experiences the Irish are capable of the exact same thing. The greatest drinks & banter happens with them. Fuck, I can even hang with them while being sober.

Scandis, Germans and the Dutch are also there, but they're a little less like us and more like eachother, not that it matters. I also like Russians whenever they act civil.

Least favourite: Brits, bad Russians, Chinese, Strayans

Don't visit during our independence day, seriously. One of the worst possible days to visit. Unlike other countries, our independence day is not a festive one but a quiet somber one. Visit on the 1st of May instead.

The way you described Arabs is literally exactly the same how Turks were acting whenever I was talking to a Turkish girl at bars in Istanbul.

Regarding the being friendly thing; it's 50/50 whether they want something from you or they are genuinely being friendly. Maybe this is different in other parts of the country.

>>
Dutch

>Favorite
Americans - The ones I have met have been great. Sometimes ignorant, but always willing to learn and always friendly.
Nordics - The most active travelers and the ones that give off the best vibe, always up for anything

>Mixed bag
Spanish/French/Italians - Everyone says southern Europeans are so open and like to socialize, but I find them mostly sticking to their own group. Upsides are that usually don't shit up a place and that they're very cultured
Brits - The #ladsontour types are shit, but at least they're somewhat funny. Middle class Brits are good people
German - Kind of rigid and the younger generation can be just as cancerous as any, but Germans are generally well behaved and kind people

>Least favorite
Australians - Mostly from my encounters at Oktoberfest, but they've been absolutely shit 99% of the time. At least the girls are slutty
East Asians - Not because they're shitty tourists, but mostly because I find it utterly impossible to have a normal talk with them (besides the language barrier)
