it's not that good of an idea. can you speak spanish fluently? this is a very corrupt country. if you don't know what you're doing they're going to take away all your money the first moment you fuck up in a roadblock by not knowing how to react or how to bribe an officer. personally i could do what you want to do, because i've lived all my life here and i know what's it like, but by being a foreigner you're an easy target for corrupt officers and other criminals. maybe you can find someone local that's willing to do this stuff with you?

If you're colombian (and thus brown and speak with a good accent) I think you're fine.

Driving around is probably pretty dangerous if you're near the cities near Caracas, but if you're in the eastern part of the country (estado bolivar, Canaima National park where the tepuis and Angel Falls are) you could be fine.
