Make sure you get yourself a Canadian national park pass if you are planning to visit Canada in 2017.
Right now they are free through a government site:

what is this park pass deal?

>what is this park pass deal?
for canada's 150 anniversary there's a collector free parks pass
it's kind of misleading, parks are usually cheap ($5) or free to enter, but then parking and tent fees cost more
you don't need the pass ether, the fees are waived because it's 2017
I find it odd how many people come to Canada to see the stupid cities that other than 3-4 aren't any different than any other ones, and not see any nature but on the plane
In america you can camp for free in most parks if you stay out of the improved campgrounds.
Is this true in canada as well?
I hope to drive my van up there this summer and cruise around enjoying the exchange rate.

It's not my fault you showed up late.

From OP's link:
>Camping fees are not included with the Discovery Pass

I did a lot of camping in BC this summer without paying. I'm fairly sure I was on BC Forest Service land most of the time. Look for spots outside of town that are definitely not someones driveway/property. Just like in the USA be clean and don't make a mess.
