OK trv I am a us citizen but I'm interested in obtaining another passport or two for travel and business reasons, I've been looking into it for many years but I decided to ask if anyone here has experience with this
So far I'm considering
Peru
Uruguay
Nicaragua
Brazil
If it helps I already speak Spanish and would physically blend in well in those countries.
Tldr has anyone had experience getting a second passport and quick easy countries to get it from

SOme of the Carribean ountries, I am told you can be eligible for a passport by making an investment in their country of a certain size -- they need capital, enough that the "buy in" was not huge. But this was a couple of years ago, and I didn't follow up since I don;t need one particularly.

How well you speak Spanish and what you look like would not factor into it.
>>
>>1186368
Easiest would be Paraguay.
Deposit $5k into a paraguyan bank account, apply for permanent residency (just a few pages), get your residency permit within a few days, 30 days later you can apply for the passport.
>>

Wow I had read it was fast but had no idea it was that fast, this is one of the ones I had actually thought knowing the language and theoretically blending In would be the helpful for I read they look for a rental in your name and a local doctor etc to "prove" you're actually residing

What speaks against a 90 day "vacation" there? Once you get the residence permit it's permanent and you will get your PP.
Rent a apartment in AsunciĆ³n or Ciudad del Este, have a good time, paraguay is cheap as fuck anyway, visit Brazil and Argentina or do stupid shit like your Private Pilot License.

See a doc, hang out with some locals, why not invest the 5k (it's a shitload of money there) to start a mini business and create a job or two that is self sufficient...

Worst case is you throw out $15k, have a shitload of fun and get a second passport.
>>
Gone hijack this thread a bit. If I have 2 passports, both with no visa requirements to enter the Schengen zone, could I:
>Enter with Passport A
>Stay the 90 day limit
>Exit on Passport A
>Re-Enter with Passport B
>Stay an additional 90 days
e.g. Fly into Spain with passport A, spend 90 days there and France, fuck off to the UK for a day, come back into the Netherlands on passport B.

Or is all this moot because they'll track it from my name?

Shit, I was in Paraguay last year. I could have easily done this. I would have liked visa free travel to Russia.
>>
>>1186386
That sounds awesome. Can you change your name while you're at it, in the local books? Would be awesome to have a second identity to fall back on in case your first one gets into trouble.
>>
>>1186386
this is simply not true.

You can apply for citizenship after 3 years of permanent residency. Not 30 days.

>>1186542
That depends on how many fucks the border agent gives and results can vary from no problem up to immediate deportation and getting both passports banned for 10 years.

>Or is all this moot because they'll track it from my name?
They have better tools than that, they have your biometric picture, your fingerprint and a unique checksum number to run through the database and it will match.

>>1186578
Probably in some way, but you have to hand in a notarized copy of your birth certificate and actual passport as well as other documents. You could always get married and accept her name in the books and change your first name but in the age of biometric passports...
Might be a lot more expensive and you should ask in the .onion circles about it.
>>
>>1186542
it's illegal but possible, and they are not gonna detect it unless you are on some kind of bad-guy watch list.

they don't even reliably track your exits on a single passport.
>>
>>1186601
>they have your biometric picture,

the picture is different in different passports.

> your fingerprint

fingerprints are not recorded in the passport.
> and a unique checksum number to run through the database and it will match.

there is no such thing
>>
>>1186542
Not any more. They take your fingerprints on the EU borders now, just like in the US. In countries that don't take fingerprints on the border it can be possible but you will have to cross the border by air - on the land border they will look for the exit stamp.
>>
>>1186604
they don't check your fingerprints against the database of all fingerprints they took. Only against the bad-guys databases.
>>
>>1186603
>the picture is different in different passports.
This is
>How Can Mirrors Be Real If Our Eyes Aren't Real
tier retarded.
Your Iris changes twice a day and nobody ever made a list with about 20 requirements how a biometrical photo has to be taken around the world. How could I think about a face recognition system or a iris scan would actually work, clearly a conspiracy.

>fingerprints are not recorded in the passport.
yes they're

>there is no such thing
yes there is

What the hell do you think is stored on the RFID chip in your passport? Emergency animu porn?
And against what they check the fingerprints they take on entry? Against the stored data in your passport.
It's a number, it matches and gets recorded and guess what a duplicate will show up because 2+2 = 4 in a US as well as a Australian passport.
>>
>>1186615
no reason to be annoyed. Just check your info before posting. What you are saying is what you think they should be doing, because you think it is possible. This, in turn, appears to be based on sci-fi

>How could I think about a face recognition system

Face recognition works great when the output set is the set of your facebook friends, and you don't mind an error now and then. When it is the set of tens milllions of people enteryng a country, and you don't want ten thousands false positives for every face - it does not work. Not to mention the amount of computing power it would require.

> iris scan
there's your sci-fi background. And iris scan based on a passport photo? Put it in your own sci-fi piece, I haven't seen it before.

>>fingerprints are not recorded in the passport.
>yes they're
No they are not.
When was the last time you got a passport? Did they fingerprint you?

>What the hell do you think is stored on the RFID chip in your passport?
the same data as in the photo page, including the photo. Sorry to break your conspiracy theories.

>It's a number
it's not as simple as that.
Face recognition does not work by computing "a number" from each photo and seeing if it "matches"

> if it matches and gets recorded

as I said here >>1186605 ,
fingerpring and photo matching is against the bad-guys watchlists only
>>
>>1186599
also two minute googleing to confirm that >>1186386
is not true :

Well either way thats still relatively easy. . . maybe open another business down there import business or buy an apartment complex?

Any other ones like Paraguay?
even at this sort of rate?>>1186621

Do you live under a rock? Facial recognition systems and iris scanning has been a thing for like a decade now. All the cameras in public places in NYC like the subway system, port authority, wallstreet, etc all use facial recognition software and have been for years and years. The cameras track each individual person and can pick out specific people based on threat algoriths and follow them from zone to zone. They not only track each person but also track items they are carrying - mainly for spotting IEDs/backpack bombs that someone might leave in a crowed place. Remember the London riots? Tons of those kids smashing and burning shit got arrested in the following weeks - because London is crammed full of cameras that could pick out their faces. Big brother is indeed watching.

As for iris scans, thats also a thing. Its a unique body feature that is extremely difficult to alter to the point of making it not match if your iris is in the system already unless you go ahead and blind yourself. Its the new preferred biometric of choice for intelligence and government agencies. Our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan went to great lengths to scan every goatherders iris, they have equipment that medics sometimes carry that is for this one purpose only - collecting biometrics. Ive read accounts of troops sabatoging a village's well and then trucking in water - but refusing to distribute it to anyone who didnt submit their biometric info, specifically iris scans.

Idk dude. I know this sounds all 1984 but this is literally the world we live in and has been for some time now.
