You could ask /trv/ but if you want my two cents, find a small hamlet by the beach in Turkey, Greece, the Yucatán peninsula (if you speak Spanish) and you'll be able to live like a king in safety and with good weather.

It would cost you some to get there, but in the middle of the Australian outback was the most isolated I have ever felt.

Second would have been Alaska, but the weather was much nicer downunder.

The Adirondacks have been a classic getaway for New Yorkers looking for a relatively remote location. It is entirely possible to rent a place a few miles off the road (and off the grid) there. Just keep your vehicle (4 wheel drive truck) gassed up, because you don't want to run out of gas up there. Also don't go in winter because you could end up snowed in for well over a month. But in the warmer weather it's entirely possible to go into the woods up there with supplies, not come out for a month and not see another person.
