How long does getting a passport take when you get it normally vs expedite it? I don't trust what it says on the site, figure the community would be able to give me a better answer.
Earlier this year during spring I was told 4 - 6 weeks for regular processing and 2 - 3 weeks for expedited service.
I opted for regular processing and got it after 3 weeks.

Australia takes like 10 business days for regular. 2 days if you pay extra $150.
If you're an American, there are rush service places if you are leaving within two weeks. Government run. I did it and got my passport in two days.

I got mine in 3.5 and I did regular. If you cannot risk it, don't
NZ is amazing at this.
> Living in Brisbane.
> Go to the renew passport website.
> Take selfie with phone.
> Fix aspect ratio.
> Upload the photo.
> Reference a friend's passport number.
> Pay for the cheapest, slowest delivery.
> Complete order on the Tuesday.
> Arrives in mail by the Thursday.

WTF calm down. He's simply asking for feedback from those who currently got em renewed.
I wouldn't exactly put trust in the passport office, and you shouldn't either, they are part of the government budget, and we are headed into holiday season, where more people travel than any other time, yet, federal holidays are firm, and those employees schedule their vacations around them too. In this summer, the passport office said they are expecting a slam all the way through 2018 processing times due to the renewal window of those who got them during the slam they had exactly 10 years ago.
When someone wants to know if they should spend extra cash wastefully or unnecessarily, they want real feedback, not lies.
