Hey /trv/ this is /k/. I'm heading to South Africa next month. What would be appropriate attire? (Both in town and on safari)

South Africans are very casual and in the summer expect the men to wear t-shirt, shorts, flip-flops around town. As for the safari, just remember that you're not Hemingway; you're a 21C tourist. Wear whatever is comfortable.

It's Breaker Morant.
If you're going out in the cities wear the same stuff you'd wear going out in the US/Europe. It's not any different and the culture is western.
For a safari just wear shorts, tshirt, whatever you want to wear in hot weather. For the most part you'll just be sitting in a hot bus or jeep looking at animals taking pictures, it's nothing special.
Bring binoculars and a DSLR with a telephoto lens. It's the only time I really missed having a big camera.
