Expect to be ripped off in Taxis, but other than that Tijuana is pretty fun. I live two miles north of the border and go once or twice a month.

Food is great, I suggest you look up places online or go by word-of-mouth. For quick recommendations I'd recommend Las Ahumaderas, which is an alley with tons of great taco places. I'd recommend Tacos El Paisa. Negro Durazo is good for seafood as well. Don't go to Tacos El Gordo, they suck. Taqueria Franc is better and is across the street.

Beer is also vastly improving with several new breweries opening up. I suggest Norte Brewing which is on this parking structure on the 5th floor near the Caliente Casino in Revolucion. Also I highly suggest checking out Plaza "El Zapato" (Shoe Plaza). It's a location filled with breweries and bars that allows you to drink/smoke outside as long as you're within the Plaza. Most pints of beers will cost you $2-$4 each.

As for hookers, expect slightly lower prices I guess? I only went to Hong Kong and while it's a much better experience than U.S. strip clubs, paying for sex still doesn't do it for me. Tried the once, and only felt nothing but regret afterwards.
