My friend and I are going to Thailand. This is our itinerary:

Bangkok 4 nights
Ko Samui 4 nights
Ko Pha Ngan 2 nights
Krabi 1 night
Phi Phi 2 nights

Any suggestions on fun bars to go to? Where do other tourist looking to party hang out? Stuff to see while we are in those places? Anything you can share would be very much appreciated. Also, I’ll be in Bangkok for 3 nights before my friend gets there. Any advice on things to do while I am by myself? I’m looking to party at night, see some shit during the day, and looking for babes. No lady boy BS. Not looking to drugs. Just drink.
>>
>>1173948
Entry Level Version:

Bangkok 101:
Khaosan Road is the backpacker drinking street. The bars get so packed that the party spills out onto the streets. 95% tourists, 5% people trying to sell you hats and bracelets. Super fun party scene.

Check out Cloud 47 at night for an underrated rooftop bar. It's a a newer place, amazing views and pretty reasonable prices. If you and your friends are willing to spend 5000 baht you can get a private cabana, on a slow night they may give to you for less.

As far as being by yourself, just stay at a hostel. Most of them turn A/C off during the day and people gather in social areas, it's easy to find someone, don't be scare and just introduce yourself. Warm White Hostel was by far my favorite, the owner works there 50% of the time and is the nicest guy. Really cares about his guests. In my experience, the smaller hostels are more social, not sure why.

Grand Palace: Overrated, skip it.

Don't buy a suit or fall for any of the tuk tuk scams, google it to read more.

Go to China town. Eat strange food. Take a boat down the gross river. Wander. It's an amazing city.

Girls: If you're not super beta, girls are easy. Just find some to go out drinking with, they tend to not care as much about hooking up since they know they will never seen you again anyway. I'm average looking and did very well. Start by social areas of hostel, don't be creep. Don't waste time with local girls, all hookers, after your money, or not actually girls.

Koh Phangan: Full moon party. Jungle Party the night before Full Moon is just as fun, get a tuk tuk to take you there, not a recommended walk.

Rent mopeds, some amazing views from the island, and plenty to drive to.

Phi Phi: One of my favorite place in Thailand. Climb to the peak and see the view. Take a boat tour of the surrounding islands (including monkey island). Visit the Raggae bar, fight for a free drink if you're feeling ballsy.

Seriously? You are telling someone who is traveling to the other side of the world to basically do exactly what they could normally do at home?

>1173948
Basically you should not listen to a single word this guy is trying to tell you OP.

Accommodation: Hostels fucking suck. Get a real fucking hotel, or better yet, just rent an apartment for the 30 days of your visa.

Girls: You don't fly to the other side of the world to fuck the same women you could fuck at home. Fuck yourself some Thai girls. The western women in Thailand are probably more likely to have STDs then the Thai whores anyway. As long as your getting Thai girls form bars and gogos, they actually get STD tested. As for the white girls visiting, they probably just got done fucking Tyrone or Muhammad after they were done with their daily feminism lecture.

Getting around: Don't get a fucking motorbike. Thailand is one of the most dangerous countries in the world to drive. Its even worse when on a motorbike. Chances are you have not had lots of experience riding one before, and are not used to driving on the other side of the road, and the driving habits of Thais, and even if you have all that, there are tons of drunk ass tourists running over people. Use a Taxi or Uber. Cheap as fuck.

Where to go: Don't get to Samui. Its just old retired people, and Russian refugees. Place is super expensive and ghetto. Save the time and money and get a bar girl to be your personal fuck toy, maid, and personal chef for a week instead.

The whole point of going to Thailand is to do stuff you could no do where you are from. For me this is cheap exotic quality accommodation, cheap exotic quality food, and cheap exotic quality whores.
>>
Out of interest, what is a reasonable budget for 2 weeks in thailand?
>>
>>1174075
30$ a day
>>
>>1174239
>>1171777
>>
>>1174269
yeah, maybe if you were getting ripped off the whole time. $20 is the absolute limit you should pay as a single dude.
>>
>>1174477
If you are a backpacker. A decent guesthouse or hotel will be $15- $25/ day depending. The place I will be staying at in Phuket is 900 baht/day, the place in Pattaya 800 baht/day, and real hotels in Bangkok and Chiang Mai so I won't even mention the prices there. This is in the beginning of high season, to include Loy Krathong. True, I won't be solo in any of these places. But honestly, I'd still prefer my own space even if I wasn't bringing sand to the beach. Hostels don't take kindly to you walking around nude.
>>
>>1173948
Go to Amsterdam bar in Koh Pha Ngan. You won't regret it...
>>
>>1174269
This assuming you never want to go more than walking distance from your hotel, have no intrest in escorts, and only want to eat noodles/ water.
>>
>>1174786
escorts are like 15$ max and noodles are like 1-2$ per meal. this budget is for traveling and includijng train tickets and shit.
>>
>>1174836
>escorts are like 15$
Lodging? And that's about 500 baht. Though I don't disagree that you can find women for 500 baht, but none that I would want/trust.
>>
>>1174836
Where do you get your noodles?

Are they tasty?

Where do you get your escorts?

STD senior citizens?
>>
>>1174074

WTF Thailand is one of the most relaxing countries to drive in. People just don't care about rules so everyone has to watch out for each other. Well, mostly... Although I would definitely recommend a car over a motorbike, as they are pretty cheap, too.

I find driving in England or Germany a lot more difficult.
>>
>>1174848
Thailand is one of the leaders (the leader?) for motorbike deaths. Hell, the DOD forbids it's employees, even civilians from renting/riding motorbikes, or riding tuk tuks, for that matter
>>
what's the right amount of time to spend in thailand? how short is too short and how long is too long?
>>
>>1174873
Depends on where you go and what you want to do. That's too broad of a question.
>>
>>1174875
>>1174873
Though I'd say a week is minimum, probably 9 days to include travel time.
>>
>>1174875

i was thinking fucking thai girls that aren't hookers and having the girls show me around
>>
>>1174878
Then that will be up to the number of girls and locations and how much time they can offer you. Take myself for instance. I will be in Thailand for about 3 weeks, With a different women each week in 4 different places. Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Chonburi province (where Pattaya is, but will be visiting Sri Racha and other places in the province as well as Pattaya, where she works as a cashier)
>>
>>1174882

i'm thinking befriending a couple online before taking the trip, or is it that easy to find regular girls same night after arriving?

Easy to find a hooker to travel around with. Or a backpacker chick. But not immediately to find a local non hooker off the street who would be willing to fuck off with you. The reasons Thais are so big on social media is easy internet access combined with being too broke to actually go out all the time. The entertaining they do is with other Thais, usually around food and alcohol. So hard to meet. But the cool thing is if you pick up a tour guide you will likely be invited to similar
>>
any suggestions you guys could give on our itin would be awesome. this is it again:

Bangkok 4 nights
Ko Samui 4 nights
Ko Pha Ngan 2 nights

Just got back from Thailand...just letting you know that the death of the king has limited the amount of club/drinking activities around the country. Touristy spots should be fine...but may still be limited a bit.
>>
>>1174943
You will get life in prison if you are caught. Good luck.

Do you think the death of the king is worth using as a argument when trying to get a refund?

Try it. Why not. It is legitimate excuse from my point of view since many changes has occured with clubs/bars. But...like i said...if you stay in the touist spots or just dont care about clubbinh too much id still go. I had s great time still.

>>
>>1174929
I think that's too much time in the islands, but if you are super in to sea activities, like diving, and also bar hopping, and touristic type stuff, that's fine. Just know those island areas are the Thai equivalent of the Carribean, meaning built up purely around tourism and would be empty backwaters if not for the tourism, thus everything and everyone there is centered around tourists/tourism, with the exception of some isolated beaches where there is not much else but the beach. Nothing wrong with that. Just know what you are getting into. I'd get bored past 4 or 5 days in that environment, including recovery/chill days from over indulgence, but I don't actually do much sea activities. Personally I'd lessen the days in the islands and asd on Chiang Mai at minimum. Knowing what you are into would help. Like a history and war fan like me Kanchanaburi and Ayuttha are great stops.

I'm going to Thailand at the end of February
Bangkok 4 days
Pattaya 6 days
Anything to do there that it's not written in any other guide?

FOR YOU
>>
>>1174929

-Bangkok

Stay on Khaosan road. Hostel or don't, it doesn't matter, you will fucking meet people no problem. Rikka Inn is relatively inexpensive and clean.

Koh Samui

Moonhut on Mae Nam Beach is laid back but its hella quiet, maybe you'll need it between bangkok and full moon party though. Other beaches are more active if that's what you're into (Chaweng is happening). Personally I'd only stay on Samui a night or two and maybe add Koh Tao (3 nights will get you an open water dive cert in most places ((check out Davy Jones Locker)) or spend more time in Krabi.

Koh Pha Ngan

Fuck yeah. Wear close toed shoes to the full moon party as there is literal AIDS in the sand.

Krabi

A lot of people thinks it's too touristy but I enjoy it. I like the silly nightlife and I like how easily it is to find a hookah spot, whereas it is more difficult elsewhere (I guess it's illegal now)

These dudes saying expect to spend 20-30$ a day are fucking crazy. It is ABSOLUTELY doable; if you are pinching pennies on food, severely limited alcohol consumption (your biggest expense lol), cherry picking your daytime activities, and staying in cheap hostels. Do you really want to do that? I think for a short trip where you are more likely to have a 'do as much as possible each day' attitude.... 50$ per day is more reasonable.
>>
>>1176490
dumb fucking frog poster
>>
I need to book before the 2nd, is 4 days Bangkok and 6 days in Pattaya good for someone who just wants to relax and fuck whores? I'm trying to get the balance of 10 days between locations right and not have any regrets of being in too short/long in one place. I plan on going on the 19th of December

I have about $2700 to spend including flights. How safe is it in general, I know I'll stick out like a sore thumb for being inexperienced in travel (It's my first time in Asia, and outside of NA/West EU in general)
>>
>>1176617
sounds fine? you are severely over budget, with 220$ a day you can fuck 2 whores a day in a 5 star hotel. I would go to some tourist island for a couple of days and relax on a better beach, pattayas is shit. maybe drop bangkok for phuket or something, there are whores there too.
>>
>>1177542
>phuket
Granted, I will be Phuket for a week because my ex works there, but Phuket is pure resort hell to me. Fine if you're already from that part of the world, but if you are from the Western Hemisphere you'd be better served by going to the Carribean or Central America than paying the premium to go to Phuket for essentially the same experience. And being resort hell everything is more expensive there.
>>
>>1173948
You can take a speed boat in bangkok and explore the outer rings of bangkok with a tour. It was a blast.
>>
>>1177577
nice food, good service, amazing beaches... that's not hell. sure it's touristy but sometimes you need to compromise
>>
>>1177582
Not hell, tourist hell. Or tourist heaven, but just a completely manufactured experience. Nothing wrong with it. I ahve done the cruise and Carribean thing and will do again. But for someone traveling from the USA, it's not worth it, even compared to Pattaya and Bangkok. Especially for a short trip. If you're coming from elsewhere in Asia, or wven cheap tickets from Europe, or have an extended stay in Thailand, all reasons for Phuket being a good escape.

But he has only 10 days, and this is his first time in Asia, you really think Phuket is his best choice for seeing Thailand?
>>
>>1177587
if you're there to relax sure. bangkok isn't relaxing, neither is really pattaya, and on the really good small islands there are no whores and 5 star hotels

What are the best places to learn diving in Thailand? I was thinking of spending 4-5 days on an island to get my PADI or SSI, but yeah there are quiet many to choose from.

Ideally I would something:
>not too big and overcrowded
>good amount of diving schools and diving spots
>still a little bit of nightlife (even if it's just a few bars or so)
>located somewhere where these is low light pollution (I would really like to see a starry sky)

Anybody done diving/has any recommendations?

Still during rainy season/low season, plus crosses labor day, so even Americans that traditionally travel there during that season when kids are out of school won't be there. The rain isn't a constant thing most of the time though. Typically fast and fierce. Think Florida weather if you're an American, which brings up another point, it's very hot. Not too bad a time for the sleep all day, up all night scene. But depending on where you are going in Thailand and your tolerance for heat and humidity and the risk of morning or afternoon showers, it could limit your daytime activities, depending on what those activities are
>>
why just thailand? why not hit all those se asian countries
>>
>>1180810
Thats fine, I do plan on just sleeping during the day and partying like crazy at night. I plan on staying in Pattaya and Bangkok.
>>

They have cheap beach chair rentals on beach road pattaya. After a hard night, I head to those beach chairs right across from the KFC and relax. Its nice as they watch your stuff and if you feel like a water or beer or like fried rice, they'll have one in your hand no time. Its relaxing and better than staying in a stuffy hotel during the day.

Hey senpai. What would be a realistic budget for me for 2 months in Thailand? (Airfare not included)

I'm a young white male, planning to stay in cheap (But well-located, clean) hotels, eat cheap (But good) food at cheap restaurants - street foods, paying for hookers only if I cant pick up chicks (Thai or tourist), once a week maybe? (I'm a relatively tall, 185cm, 86 kg, fit, above average looking, non - autist white dude), travel around with BTS, Skytrain, TukTuks, Not drinking alot of alcohol (1-2 cheap beers/night).

I dont plan on going for tourist attractions such as Tiger Prison, Elephant Torture Park, Diving Lessons etc. I plan on exploring the country, fucking hot chicks, relaxing, socializing, eating good food, getting oil massages from time to time, chilling at the beach, taking short walks around, maybe renting a moped and driving around etc.

I plan to visit Bkk, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh PhiPhi, Koh Lanta, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Lipe and Maybe Koh Chang.

Those are what I seek for my trip (Basically, A bit comfier than the average backpacker minus the tourist attractions I suppose). Any suggestions, tips and budget estimations for me?

I consider myself cool, friendly, positive and believe that I got some amount of game. Can I pick up Thai girls at the mall, street, bars, cafes etc whatever?

Also, am I going to be above average height in Thailand like where I live now or am I going to tower over all the asian people?

Any help is appreciated anons

>>1174001
So he should go to Thailand only to not actually experience the country properly? I find it quite silly to go to a completely foreign country only to hang around with people from your home country all day and act like a lowlife.

>>1174878
Fucking a regular Thai girl? Quite unlikely. Good luck anyway. Maybe try something like thaifriendly. A friend of mine showed me her profile though and she gets absolutely flooded with messages so maybe it will be difficult on those sites. If you find a girl in club don't be surprised if she starts asking for money in the morning.

>>1174943
Wouldn't recommend it mate. Maybe you've heard that you can just throw money at police if you get caught but you've probably also heard that all the girls are ladyboys.

>>1175416
Everythings still open, don't worry about it.

>>1180791
Low season so it's less crowded. Some hotels lower their prices. It doesn't rain too often and when it does rainfall doesn't last too long but you're going to want to be inside when it rains. The rain can be really heavy and violent. Shouldn't affect you too much depending on what you plan to do.

>>1181369
I'm pretty broke so I only take maybe 1000tbh on average with me with I go out to walking street gogos/clubs ect but I always have a great time. Luckily the girls always buy me drinks so I don't have to spend too much. You can get some really good cheap food, my favourite is chicken liver+sticky rice only 40thb. But remember it might taste good but your stomach might not agree. Hotels you can go cheap as long as they're clean and have a decent bed, you probably won't be in there too often just sleeping anyway.

Chances of picking up regular Thai girl is pretty slim. If you want a Thai girl you most likely will have to get your wallet out. You will have luck with white backpacker girls though probably. If you're 6 foot you're obviously going to stand out. Thais are generally pretty small.

>>
>>1181919
It is highly unlikely you will stay at a girls place for multiple reasons:
1. They stay with family, so even if they let you no fucking is going on
2. They stay with friends, so no fucking going on
3.Their place is small as shit, with no AC, and they are worried about what the neighbors might say if they overhear y'all having sex, so no fucking going on

>>
>>1182103
You can stay at hostels, or even apartments dirt cheap. Search on Agoda.com I am burning up mobile data, so I won't post a pick, but I just stayed at a place in Phuket which was 900 baht a day, ended up paying 800 baht and it's harder to find cheap places in Phuket than probably anywhere else. And this was a private room with AC. Granted a Thai girl foundthe place for me. She loved there but has a smaller room with no AC. If I was being super cheap I could have shared her twin size bed, I guess

Thailand is the poor man's Mexico. Culture is a pale imitation of what it used to be and they try too hard to emulate America's, basically all it's good for is enjoying yourself in the most degenerate way possible.

Also Mexico's archaeological sites are better preserved, mountain regions are nice, garbage problem is improving and it's not an authoritarian shithole. Given the choice between either place I'd go to Mexico in a heartbeat.

Granted, it's hard to access without a local if you don't speak Thai.

Chiang Mai, and the rest of the North (Nan, Chianf Rai) are pretty based, as well. Also some gems south in Phuket, like Bangtao, and even farther down to Hat Yai. I understand your complaints but they are pretty exclusive to Bangkok. That's like someone complaining about the USA because of NYC. And just like most Americans don't like NYC, most Thais don't like Bangkok.
>>
>>1183766
Chiang Mai was boring but less so than the rest of the country. I might go back at some point, but only to Nong Khai so I can take the train to Vladivostok.

Phuket wasn't that great, and while I enjoyed the Gulf of Thailand more than the dog-hating regions on the Andaman coast I still thought it was overrated and overpriced.

Maybe it's the heat and humidity that ruined it, I enjoyed Finland, Japan and Scotland.

When I was in Thailand I took women who had legit jobs, like in restaurants and cashiers, from the south to the North. It may be even easier with whores. The cashier I still had to bar fine (1000 baht/500 per day, two days) but paid nothing but incidentals beyond that, the cook she just let her boss know in advance and I compensated her for time missed from work, though. Got to see ane do somecool shit I wouldn't have otherwise. It was worth it.

For your situation, I reccomend just getting a girl in the south, or at least one that has worked there before, so you can get the inside track to the islands.

Pic related. While still on Phuket, went to the street market with the restaurant chick, bought this seafood, rhat was still alive and squirming, bought a bottle of wine. Dropped it off at her job, her friends at the restaurant cooked it and we had a nice dinner. Plus got insider tsunami stories and other history of the area. She took me to Wat Chalong and actually explained all the procedures and things. Also took to me to the night market (I say took, but I drove) and acted as translator

I think he never really gave Thailand a chance, especially if he came during the low/rainy/summer season where the heat and humidity is at it's highest. It's hard to enjoy yourself, or even do things, if you aren't acclimated and are sweaty, sticky, and miserable. There's a reason winter is high season for tourism in Thailand. The heat is barely bearable then, depending on where you are from

Please stop this meme. It's even pissing Thai people off. The BBC was forced to take down a video on FB due to the backlash from Thais in the comments that implied the country is shut down. Unless you are going for a public celebration, as the mourning only really is affecting the government, you likely won't even notice anything has happened. Expecially outside of Bangkok. 4 nights Bangkok near MRT
2 nights Hua Hin

Siam Paragon has an aquarium in it, two buldings down there is a Madame Toussads with Ice Age 4d thing at the end. You can check out the movie theater at Siam Paragon as well, there is a 4d one, that's how I watched Dr Strange, plus one where they have those couches and such. You can check out Art in Paradise. http://www.artinparadise.co.th/

I can tell you about the waterparks and stuff in Pattaya (it's actually a popular family vacation destination, including the biggest water park in Thailand and stuff like Ripleys and the zoos and stuff) and Phuket, but I don't know anything about Hua Hin.

Pratanum Market/Indira Square is a good local market with good prices in Bangkok. Especially for clothes and souvenirs.

Budget doesn't include hotels.

I am purchasing mid level hotels.

>do you plan on paying ladyboy escorts? if so how much?
Only short time, long time/overnight is too risky with escorts(they try to date you, get more money, get into your heart ). Between 1500-3000 baht should be enough. I want threesomes but for some reason ladyboys don't like threesomes, so it is difficult to find.

I might buy some clothes, depends. I am only carrying a small 10kg suitcase and that is it.

>>1185915
Thanks, I am booking reasonable hotels, not some hostels. From low/mid level chain so it should be all right.
>>

It depends how much you want a beach. You could also fly to Phuket via AirAsia for relatively cheap. If you have luggage you don't want to haul with you then you can leave bags at DMK (where Air Asia flies out of) for 75 baht per bag per day. I used this service a few times when traveling around Thailand but only staying a place for a day or two. A warning that Phuket is probably the most expensive area in Thailand, but that's relative. Pattaya is only a couple of hours from Bangkok, it's not far. The most I have paid, for a private taxi, was 1,700 Baht, about $50. There is a the baht bus which is only like 100 baht, and even Uber, about 1,330 baht. Personally, I'd get bored with all 6 days in Bangkok, don't get me wrong, there is plenty to do, but the city is so large, crowded and congested, after a few days doing it can be a hassle.

Yes and no. I mean you are literally on top of Central Festival Mall, and close to Beach rd. At the same time, at the Hilton you will literally be "above it all" with great views. But being at the mall on the ground the area can be pretty busy, rowdy, still. But it's still a good location and can easily get everywhere else cheaply from there.

If you are staying at decent place, which it seems like you are if you are looking at the Hilton in Pattaya, use the concierge service of your hotel to book things like the Grand Palace, floating markets, weekend market and such, or talk with them about the best times to go, and then use an uber so you want have to worry about a taxi screwing you over, or use Grab taxi.

How was the sex? (what's it like being with a ladyboy?)

>>
>>1185940

Not op, been to pattaya a lot. I prefer pattaya as I stuff myself at breakfast, then head to the beach and get a rental beach chair. Anything you need they will get or arrange for you. Beer? Fried Rice? whatever, and they watch your stuff if you want to head to the shops. Even with a hangover its relaxing, then when the sun goes down, head back to the hotel and shower and then its time for night life. A late nite dinner and do it all over again.

And a warning about renting a jet ski, its usually an extortion scam.

Visited Thailand two times already.
Initially even dated but now decided to just fuck hookers, it's simpler, less hassle and more relaxing.
Sex with ladyboys is amazing and great-highly recommended, although I fuck girls too sometimes.

Daily schedule:
Wake up 9 AM, shower, eat good breakfast with lots of juice and fruits, go on tinder/thaifriendly, read net

11-15-go shopping, sight seeing, visit temples

Around 15-eat lunch, some beer at the beach/river. Nothing upscale/nothing lowscale, usually middle range local places.

16-19 relax at hotel, read news, 4chan, books.

19-, shower, go out, eat some snack, drink beer at restaurant

21-22 visit clubs, go-go bars, pick a ladyboy

22-24/1 am fuck.

1am drink some beer, shower, go to sleep.

9 am-repeat

Not the guy you're responding to, but if traffic is anything like in northern Vietnam, I agree with the guy. The traffic is really chaotic, but it's a sort of organized chaos. People are very aware of their surroundings, and everything flows very smoothly. The one time I should've gotten in an accident was because I was driving way too fast, and was being a bit risky. Completely my fault. If I were in the west, I probably would've died. But the Vietnamese drivers are just way more aware of what's going on around them, and the guy let me pass in front of him when he had the right of way.

Driving in SEA is fucking fun.

I have 1 month. Any itienary suggestions?

Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Koh Lipe, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, Koh Chang. I want to narrow this list down to 5-6 places so I can actually "enjoy" the trip and not rush it - get exhausted on the road.

Full Moon Party? Worth it? Phuket and Koh Samui? Overly Touristic, average places or good? Won't be snorkelling. Koh Tao, skip it? Anything Koh Chang has that other islands do not have? Should I save myself 4-5 more nights by skipping Koh Chang and add them to Koh Phi Phi - Koh Lipe? Want to eat good food, "LOVE" nature (Especially good beaches with soft - white - golden sand), like to socialize, not a hardcore party-freak. Occasional hookers, ladyboy once, maybe? (Is it worth it?)

I don't drink alot (In fact, I almost always drink the bottle of vodka-whiskey-whatever we've bought with friends before heading out) so we drink couple beers throughout the night. I plan on fucking hookers every 4-5 nights (Maaaaaaybe). Want to be able to eat good though. Not interested in luxurious - high end cousine but I want to be able to eat good, delicious food and experience the food culture. Will 1500$ (Airfare not included) will be enough? Planning on staying at hostels, cheap but clean hotels prob in Bkk and Phuket, when I'm fucking.
>>
>>1187252
Phuket is worth it. I like the Bang Tao/Surin Beach area. Much more chill. If you aren't super into partying or diving, maybe go to the Full Moon party just to say you did, but don't spend more time on the Southern Kohs outside of that, and maybe a day to see the rocks everyone takes photos of. Koh Chang is much more chill, laidback, but still has some bars and such, but a lot of nature tours/jungle exploration. During your time in Bangkok I'd throw in at least a weekend or couple days in Pattaya. I reccomend Harry's Place guest house on Soi 11 (aka Soi Honey) to stay at and Touch on Soi LK Metro around the corner as the must stop gogo, in addition to the night clubs on Walking Street and whatever. Look for accommodations on Agoda or Booking.com . Unless you are just into the hostel scene, you will find Apartments, hotels, and guest houses cheaper than a hostel. As I have been pretty successful at getting travel companions, hostels neve really worked for me. With a whole month, you may want to check out the oft ignored Isaan region. Udon Thani is the largest city and not far from Vientane, Laos. Outside of Udon Thani, and maybe Kohn Kaen, this region can be a little difficult to navigate if you don't speak the language or have a local guide. The gogos in Kohn Kaen, as far as as the quality of girls, puts the south to shame. Tall, porcelain, curvy, and not covered with tattoos typically. Basically the type of girls Thai's like that you see in their media. $1,500 is enough if you pace yourself. Also don't pick up a travel companion because then that would double a lot of expensive. Even if you pick up a local stick and move. I say it all the time and you can do the math, fucking whores us actually cheaper than "regular chicks" most of the time. You know what, for Isaan (North East Thailand) you could use that showaround service.

Help me choose 1 or 2 more destinations. My trip will be 29 days long.

Bkk - 5 Night
Chiang Mai - 3 Night
Phuket - 3 Night
Koh Phi Phi - 3 Night
Koh Lipe - 4 or 5 Night

I have 8-9 more nights. I'm considering visiting Koh Lanta, Koh Chang or Krabi. My biggest concern is trying to see so many places and get exhausted - spend all of my time on the road.

I would add 2 or 3 more nights for BKK because I have so many dates lined up from Thaifriendly. Other than that, which of the 3 would you recommend? Koh Lanta, Koh Chang or Krabi. I don't plan on visiting Samui-Phangan-Tao. I'll have my share of partying in PhiPhi.

I've always wanted to visit a tropical country with warm waters and soft white sands.

Also, I'm not really into Historical stuff. Want to see the must-see stuff though.

Base yourself out of Phuket and you can take excursions to other Islands from there. I like the Bang Tao / Surin Beach area for quiet/chill but not deserted beaches but you'd need to rent a car, take a taxi, or otherwise find a ride to get into Phuket town for the night market or Walking Street or something.
>>
>>1187260
>Touch on Soi LK Metro around the corner as the must stop gogo
>>
>>1190177
I would recommend Koh Lanta out of those three, although depending on how you plan on getting back up to the north after the islands it would probably end up making sense for you to travel from Lanta/Phi Phi to Krabi and then north from there. Krabi itself isn't particularly nice (talking about Ao Nang, not Krabi town as this is what most people mean by Krabi) although some of the spots you can visit via day boat trips from there are beautiful.

Maybe consider a day or two more in Chiang Mai if you're interested in eating and temples. Do a trip up Doi Suthep while you're there. Other places I think you should consider are Ayuthaya for ancient temples and Kao Sok National Park for nature/hiking. Like you said though dont try and fit too much in. Maybe just try and choose 1 or 2 extras from what you've already got.

go to nana entertainment plaza, go to a go go bar. the girls are held accountable for their actions, it's very commercial, if you get robbed you can go to the bar and complain, and if you get murdered the hotel you're staying at will know who did it since they take your guests ID
risk of crime is greater with streetwalkers since they probably got kicked out from go go bars for being crazy
>>
>>1191643
Thank you for the information, i'll have to check it out.

Last question, what are the chances im going to get robbed or killed walking back to my place at night?
>>
what are the odds of getting an std if i fuck a ladyboy with a condom?
>>
>>1191658
0, do you know what a condom is?

>>1191651
low, lower than wherever youu are from
>>
>>1191670

i've been reading crazy shit about fags poking condoms to transmit hiv to people that dont have it

im scared man
>>
>>1191688
even fucking a ladyboy with hiv it's a 0.11% risk unless you're the one taking dick in your ass, you could fuck 500 aids ladyboys and have a 50% chance of getting it. given that 12% of male prostitutes in thailand have aids you can fuck about 5000 ladyboys without a condom and still have a 50% risk.
>>
>>1191643
I'm not retarded, I can read, but apparently you can't. He asked about hooking up with regular chicks and you point him to gogo bars. The STD rate is low among sex workers in Thailand. But the overall HIV rate in Thailand is around 1.5 percent of the pop, but that is concentrated around Bangkok where it is much higher and mostly among regular people.

Mostly spread from Thai men fucking ladyboy hookers in the ass the spreading it to the women, and thus the cycle goes. Not saying don't do anything, just saying be aware and take precautions.
>>
>>1191703
Thai condoms are less reliable than western ones, tho
>>
>>1192062
Durex and most condoms you buy in the East, like Lifestyles (Maybe Europe, too, but I never looked) are manufactured in Thailand. Still, one of the most popular advice on this board in that regard is to bring your oen condoms. Though this is due to aize, though size effects reliability

>>
>>1192613
Get the booking.com app and check the area you want to stay every day. Also watch the percent of booked rooms in this area. Even in pattaya it's barely at 50% and thats for next week. Book with the app, go to the hotel, show them your booking certificate on your phone and pay cash or with creditcard.
>>
>>1192642
>booking.com
Or Agoda, better deals I get than booking as an insider, which is just a registered account. Maybe you need to have booked before. I have been so long I don't remember. I actually always check both. Just finding Agoda cheaper most of the time.

This also depends on how much you wantto have your trip structured. When I am with my wife I pre book. Solo I will wait
>>
>>1192645
Also, you can hedge your bets by reserving a room with free cancellation, which you can cancel a day or two before arrival, depending on the place, if you find a better deal. I have done this with booking and agoda. Even canceling and rebooking at the same place when the price dropped.

Yes, ladyboys always hit on you, it's difficult to guess how much of it is honest and how much fake

You can pick up a ladyboy without paying, but I would advise against it, they will want relationship even a long distance one, and unless you really, really are into it, I would recommend against it.
It's both fair to you and to the ladyboy, you are not deceiving a ladyboy that you love, and it costs less to buy sex than get it for "free".

Mind you, contrary to common perception, I noticed on Tinder that there is a certain niche group of ladyboys that are from rich families, and were actually richer than me.
I know a couple of Hi-So ladyboys and they are picky who they sleep with, also live lifestyles I wouldn't be able to afford.
>>
>>1192866
You can uber to everywhere in Bangkok or BTS. So transportation cost is not a huge factor, though traffic can be. I'd stay in the Nana area. Clubs and restaurants down Sukhumvit 11. Nana plaza and Soi Cowboy both in the area within walking distance. Maybe a kilometer apart.

Silom rd area is another option

K. Sahn road is another option, and center of the backpackers, but not my entire scene to want to lodge there. It may be yours

>Literally every single girl I brought back
Are these girls whores? Even if not, don't worry. Bangkok people shit on everything outside of Bangkok, the same way New Yorkers shit on everything outside of NYC. Way more scams in Bangkok. If you are worried stick to GoGos and beer bars for whores, avoid beach rd. I reccomend Touch for a great GoGo. Soi LK Metro.
>>
>>1193686
Thanks, no not all were whores, 3/7 were girls I picked up from club (maybe they were semi-pros idk) and they said the same
>>
>>1193688
You do have popular scams like the jetski one. You rent a damaged jet ski, with the damage superficially hidden, and then they charge you for it upon return. A lot of guys get caught up in the degeneracy in Pattaya and leave broke. A lot end up falling in love with whores there, moreso than Bangkok, but nothing particularly more to be careful than Bangkok.
>>
Bangkok

Swerve Khao San Rd, hit up Rambuttri Rd which is adjacent. Far less loud and tacky, good live music, better bars and food etc, far less dickheads in neon singlets

Use the ferry, its great. Don't get on the blue flag one, its an over priced tourist scam. Orange flags come regularly, and its like 12B to travel as far as you want. Hop on/off at countless stops

Get lost in China Town for a few hours. Ferry will take you there.

Forget Grand Palace, massive tourist trap filled with busloads of Chinese cunts with selfie sticks. Wat Pho isn't much better.

If you really must, Soi Cowboy is about 200B in a taxi and will be an experience for an evening, if nothing else

Eat some banana pancakes

Ignore Indians trying to sell suits every 10 metres. Ignore anything to do with Ping Pong shows. Always ask for taxis on the meter, never pay up front.

I've not been to any of those islands but Krabi is a bit of a dump desu. Getting a longboat to Phra Nang Beach for the day is worth it though
>>
>>1193692

Thaifriendly, Dateinasia, and as always OKC. Tinder for when you get there.

You'll definitely want someone to meet you at the airport, so to speak. Find a couple qts to your liking, and pick one to be your tour guide at least until you get your bearings.

I generally like to aim to have around five girls in a city that are down to fuck/travel before I arrive.

Do not, I repeat, *do not* put all your eggs in one basket, these girls are extremely flaky.

Meet a few online, Skype them before you fly, they're much less likely to flake on you once you're more than words and a profile picture. You want to be a person to them, build that connection, have them excited to see you.

Also, lose the binary thinking of good girl/hooker, there are many, many subtle levels in between in Thailand.

Woah! what hotel? I'm going to Thailand for a whole month in February 3rd, and I was thinking in renting some AirBnb apartment. What are the best place to stay in Bangkok?

I just checked, it was actually a 4 star, there doesn't even seem to be any five stars there. It was Centara in Udon Thani. https://www.agoda.com/centara-hotel-convention-centre-udon-thani-hotel/hotel/udon-thani-th.html

You can get a lot of 4 stars for under $50/night in Bangkok. You can get 5 stars between 50-100/night. But you can also find apartments for less than $10 night. Use Agoda or Booking.

Chiang Mai 4-5 days. Do I need to book ahead for the elephant parks?
Maybe squeeze in Pai.
Koh Phi Phi or the Islands for the rest to relax before going back to Bangkok to depart at night.

How old are your children? Quite as its kept, Pattaya is actually pretty good for families. Waterparks, zoos, tourist stuff like Ripleys.

>>
>>1199788
30 years ago, maybe. Thailand really doesn't play that shit anymore. You have nothing to worry about. They just look underage. They will shownid, anyway. The only way you would encounter one is a freelance streetwalker, which would be rare, as afar as one being underage. Or in a Thai only venue, like a Karaoke bar, where they have trafficked girls from Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar, but unless you know or are with a local you wouldn't have access to such a place. It is true that US laws extend to Thailand, but you would have to go out of your way to fuck an underage girl, and thus you deserve everything you get as far as consequences.

Looking for some advice for first timers. Spending 14 days in Thailand in mid-June with a good friend. We're planning on seeing some sights and partying. This is our itinerary so far:
Bangkok - 3-4 days
Pattaya - 3-4 days
Chiang Mai - 2-3 days
Since we have a few days to spare, what are other places we should consider that aren't too far off from our destinations? Any things or places to skip/avoid? Not too interested in beach stuff if that helps narrow things down.

Geography mostly. Also many anons above deem Phuket as relatively more expensive and family oriented. We're not going there to spend much money on PG things my dude. Besides we're not that interested in the beach so Pattaya is good enough. We're looking forward to Chiang Mai for sight seeing, while Bangkok and Pattaya will be mostly partying hopefully.
>>
>>1199945
I'm going there with my GF and another couple so not super interested in whores but maybe a ping pong show, etc. We're doing the full moon party so any additional partying is just icing on the cake.

Have you thought about Krabi? I'm still trying to figure out where I'm going.

So far the musts are Bangkok, Pha Ngan, Chiang Mai, and Phi Phi

Would like to balance seeing a lot but not overly rushing things either.

How are you getting around? I'm planning on taking a few flights in order to save time even though it's more expensive. A lot of the cheaper ways of travel seem like they take up an entire day. It's not worth it to me.

> Bangkok 4 nights
> Ko Samui 4 nights
> Ko Pha Ngan 2 nights
> Krabi 1 night
> Phi Phi 2 nights

I'm assuming you will want to fly from Samui to Krabi direct? The only way is by Bangkok Airways (the biggest rip-off company in Thailand). I have just checked and the price in January 2017 is 7,000 baht (about $200) which is a hell of a price to pay. Up to you though, but you will have to get from Phangan to Samui airport which will take time.
If you are not flying, you need to factor in travelling time between Koh Phangan to Krabi. They are on opposite sides of the country and it will take at least a day, starting at 5 or 6 am, to get from Pha Ngan to Samui, the boat from there to Surat Thani, (2 hours then te bus into Surat town) then to Krabi on a long twisty bus ride from Surat Thani. I suspect it will take 12 to 14 hours at least depending on timetables and waiting time.
At least go to Pha Ngan first and start your trip to Krabi from Samui to save the time from Phangan.

> fucking thai girls that aren't hookers and having the girls show me around

LOL Naive newfag.
Delusional. Do you seriously think that an office girl or student will be able to take time off for that?
Can you speak Thai well? Because most Thai women have only a smattering of English, if any.
Nope, any women who make themselves available to a foreigner will want paying. Whether you like it or not, the stance here is that the man pays for everything and there is no going Dutch here. Even if you met someone and they could get time off (and I don't mean a bar girl) you would have to recompense her for loss of earnings (most Thais get about 5 days off a year), pay all meals, hotels, trips, shopping etc.
The realistic thing to do is find yourself a decent bar girl who you feel you can trust (there are some), negotiate a daily rate (which you pay in full at the end of your stay), get her to suggest a few places and let her take you around - and you will pay for the lot, even her friends she invites along for a free meal at the farang's expense.
Good luck.

The 100 day point is 20 January, I believe, (in 10 days time) supposedly the official end of the mourning period (unless you work for anything to do with the Gov't, when it is a year)
Pubs and bars are open, but everything is very muted.

Fuck me, you'll be all over the place. Most of those places are close together, apart from Chiang Mai, but you can fly direct to Phuket or Krabi from there. Koh Chang is not easy to get at apart from BKK, so I'd suggest giving it a miss.

I have just the same problem, and my wife's family are only 30 miles from our place just north of Bangkok. I take a good book, sometimes my laptop with some movies loaded (they have no internet) and I drink beer from the local 'shop' which sells everything from noodles to old beer bottles with petrol in them.
Oh, and we eat a lot, and I mean a lot. I usually kill time by cooking some Western food for them . I told them that if I had to eat their stuff, they had to eat mine :-) I'm not a bad cook and they like it now.
I did chips (French fries) for them at New Year and they scoffed 3 kg of potatoes. One relative came to visit and asked to see a potato because he had never seen one before, but he refused to eat a chip! Thais over about 35 are very conservative food-wise.

>How do you stop yourself from getting bored?
>>1201863
If I am honest. Mobile data and 4Chan, for when everyone else is sitting around eating and drinking and talking gibberish. But the times when me and my girl are one on one, I am never bored. Not talking about just sexy time, either. Even when we were out in the country.

I feel you on all the eating and drinking though

Fool. Of course, people in Thailand speak English, but only in the bar and other tourist areas. Outside of those and Bangkok, no, most people don't speak it to any degree.
That's why you should get off your fat lazy Amerifag ass and try to learn some Thai. That will pay real dividends if you and show some respect for the people, who will love you for trying.
>>
>>1184652
Oh, he's an Amerifat all right. And uneducated.

If you look and act like a construction worker out whoremongering, then you'll get whores. The fact that you have to reassure yourself that this is OK and that you're not a bottom feeder makes me wonder who the naive person really is, here. Your cynicism is very boyish.

>Just returned from Thailand and the only disappointment was Loy Krathong
It's always disappointing although last November was worse. It's a uniquely Thai thing and means something to them, but to Westerners, its just a load of people floating pretty little rafts for an hour on whatever bit of water they can find.

I'd probably drop a night in Bangers and add it to a day in Hua Hin if you are with family.
Not a lot to do in HH though, but a good night market near the railway station with some great food. There's also a night market outside the Grand Hotel near soi 82 on the main road but it is pricier than the one in town and there are 2 men the restaurants there - one for Thais and on for farangs which is 4 times the price.

I used to go to a place called Lolita's in a little side soi off Sukhumvit soi 8 in BKK. I got pally with some of the girls and I can tell you that they are highly skilled. They'll have you off in 10 minutes max. They time each other to see who can blow their guy the fastest too, the quicker the BJ the quicker they are ready for the next one. they only get 40% of the cost for themselves too so they need a production like of punters.
The girls are mainly office and shop workers and this is their second job after the day job. They start about 7 pm until about midnight, perhaps 1 am. I know 2 girls there quite well and one was an accountants clerk, the other a cashier in a Big C supermarket during the day.

Ok, here's the short:
Starting job in Korea soon. Want pre-work vacay. I have 1 month
-I was strongly considering Myanmar but the more I think about muslim insurgents and the 24h fluorescence of 7/11's the more I want to be in Thailand (unless you convince me to go to Myanmar instead. Literally any way the wind blows.)
-I have already been to Bangkok, Chang Mai, Pai, as well as up the peninsula by train to Phuket and Phi Phi. Could go again but it'd be cool to see somewheres new
-I want to do this as absolutely budget as possible. Nothing that you think is 'a little' overpriced. Doesn't need to be dirt cheap, but definitely great value for what I'm paying
-I like to party but nothing TOO fratty. I also like to chill
-city or beach or rural town is fine, just want something really cool

Where should I go?

thanks, /trv/ <3

>>1201847
>Nope, any women who make themselves available to a foreigner will want paying.

I slept with 3 girls and one ladyboy without paying.
>>
>>1201908
You paid when you took them to dinner, bought them loads of drinks, paid for the taxi, hotel room, breakfast, maybe some bits of clothing they 'just happened' to see etc etc
>>
>>1201886
I don't think you realise that, despite pretending they aren't most Thai women and ladyboys who don;t work in bars, still expect everything to be paid for.
My cynicism is based on living here for almost 15 years in a professional job both here and in my home country, with a good university degree and only mixing with fellow professionals, Thai and farang.
Maybe you should read more and mouth off less until you know what you are talking about
>>
>>1201861
Great ladyboy, if you like that sort of thing. I'd rather stay HIV free.
>>
>>1201857
I was down Cowboy last week, but in the day. It was very quiet, but OK I was early.
You might see the bright lights but note the women are all in black, with some long skirts and there's not much music or dancing spilling out in the street.
Yeah, sure, there are still whores about but I still say things are muted for now.
I can remember Cowboy just 6 months ago being packed and so loud you couldn't speak.
If an Anon comes here for women, he'll get one for sure, (many) but he won't be dancing in the street as he would have last year.
>>
>>1201884
>>1201885
You fell for the bait. Anon posted that in threads for a few different countries awhile ago
>>
>>1201930
That's Asian women in general though. I never minded, being the culture I was raised in, in my part of the USA, also dictated that the man pays. Even when out with female friends and such. So it wasn't a culture shock for me. The old school thinking is one of the things I like
>>
>>1201932
I will give you that Bangkok is more affected than other places. Understandably so, but it's still fine. And places farther afield are back to normal
>>
>>1201934
And I would know that precisely how?
>>
>>1201983
Which is kind of the point of good bait.
>>
>>1201930
You're changing your story around.
One minute, they expect foreigners to pay them for sex. The next, they expect men to pay the bills at restaurants.

I don't know what kind of restaurants you go to, but they probably aren't good enough for women to prostitute themselves for.
If they don't like going dutch, that's common enough even in the west. Paying for a coffee would not be a deal breaker for me.

In any case, this is irrelevant to what you were originally complaining about. It annoyed you that someone wanted to date Thai women instead of paying for poorly-mannered prostitutes bussed up from the backwoods, who are obviously more in your league.

When trying to imagine a non-prostitute Thai girl, you still only managed to envision a waitress or a call centre gril. What's wrong with dating a dentist with tinder photos of her next to the Eiffel tower?

Low standards and a narrow mind.
>>
>>1202034
I think he's just saying, unless you pick up, pump, and dump, you will be coming out of our pocket. And to him, there's no difference in taking a woman out to eat, or just buying them for sex directly.

His issue, though, is a cultural one. Not someone taking advantage of foreigners or whatever.

does any one have a suggestio for a trekking/hiking tour? possibly for upt to 3-4 days? No matter where in the country but preferably in the north or any of the national parks in the middle. Thanks!
>>
>>1174074
this lol, going to pattaya by myself and i'm not even thinking about planning, just gonna get a new thai girl every few days and have them be my tour guides
>>
I just found out that I got a really nice job that starts in March, and now I'm thinking about taking a last minute trip i February to Thailand.

I enjoy a lot of hiking, and outdoor activities, would I be disappointed if I went in Feb? Would everything be way too much money? I hear this is the high season.
>>
i know the muay thai scene is big in thailand but are there any bjj gyms in the pattaya area i can train at while there?
>>
>>1186900
I've been to one, and got carried away with the girl and starting groping her and then making out, until I realized that I am at a blowjob bar, and she probably had another dick inside her 15 minutes ago, full of cum too

I plan on being in Ko Phangan for 4 days during the FMP.

I can't swim... so snorkeling and diving are out. ...

Would a day trip/tour to Ang Thong National Marine Park be a waste of time and money for someone who will likely only dip their toes in the water?
>>

Weather is much better then. That's shy high season is high season. Cooler temps and less rain. Stuff is more expensive relative to low season, but still not 1st world prices. Most expensive is southern islands and Phuket area
