I'm flying from Rome to Sicily in a few weeks. I'll have a week to spend on the island starting at Catania and ending in Palermo where I will fly back home. What should I definitely see? I really liked the run-down decadance that I encountered in Naples and I'd be down for experiencing more of that. Also I'm definitely going to want to go up Mt Etna. Any other ideas? How should I get from Catania to Palermo and how long should I spend in these respective cities?
Thanks.

Can confirm about the locations the other anon provided.
Moreover:
- gole alcantara
- piazza Armerina
- la scala dei turchi (or similar name)
- absolutely the Eolie islands
- trapani and the "saline" near it
Can't think of more right now
Alright, tell me if I've done goof'd. I've settled on Catania>Siracusa>Palermo
It's only six days and I'd rather relax than travel to too many places.
Those amazing baroque cities will have to wait for another time.
