I want to go to north korea. I wonder if this is even possible

Sure you can. I was there last year and a hand full of people on this board have been there. The down side is that you have to go there with a tour agency but imo that's part of the experience.

I think the easiest way is to use one of the tour agencies based in Beijing and go with them. Some countries have friendship organization that arranges trips so that is also an option. Personally I went there with Young Pioneer Tours (partly because they were the cheapest option), I thought they were good but have in mind that they're the company that the American that's now imprisoned in NK used.

I can reply longer tomorrow but for now I can say that there's not so much propaganda with Kim Jong Un. He was mentioned a few times but his portrait is not on the walls like his dad and grandad. I learned how to read Korean before going (it's really simple) and I only remember seeing one building named after him. I believe that it might be more frequent now as the guides explained this by him being very new to the position and that he was humble about his achievements.
