Should I travel to New York City or Seattle?
In terms of total cost and experience, which one should I travel to?
New York City is obviously going to be more expensive. The experience itself depends on what you're into.
Whatever, just go to New York.
Seattle
I was just there and absolutely loved it.
I just had this really crazy interesting idea -- I bet that, if you gave us some vague hint as to what sort of things interested you, we could give you a more useful answer.

This is a completely unfathomable idea, I have no idea how someone could have thought of this in this day and age.

I've been to both and I can say that NYC as a whole had cooler vibes for me than Seattle but at the same time I live on the west coast so Seattle feels alot just like home to me. NYC WILL BE MORE EXPENSIVE. There's no way getting around it.

Where are you coming from?
For me personally I find that New York as a city is a lot more interesting to visit and there is a lot more to do. It feels exceptional and there are hundreds of landmarks that you'll recognize from movies and such.
Seattle just kind of feels like another American city to me. There's just nothing mind-blowing about walking around in Seattle as opposed to NY.
I would definitely consider Seattle, however, if you don't live in a scenic area - because the surrounding areas of Seattle are absolutely beautiful. I would say that generally unless you plan to go see Mt. Rainier National Park or Olympic National Park, Seattle isn't worth it on its own. But if you can go to those places and don't live in a place where you'd be used to gigantic snow-capped volcanic mountains, then Seattle is definitely as good an option as any.
In short though, I'd still pick New York if you haven't been there. It's the quintessential big city experience and an essential destination on any traveler's list. Just don't stay too long in the really touristy areas, make sure to explore, because there's lots to find.
