Hey! I'm going to Iceland very soon, what are the best places to go to?
Probably not the bank if I were you.

Give us a vague idea what sort of things interest you.

Ice. I'm fascinated by it so I thought "hey, if there's a land of it..I might as well check that out!"

IceSave was eight years ago. I wouldn't put my money in an Icelandic bank, but then again I wouldn't put my money in a Peruvian bank, either.

Glacier lagoon
Natural attractions an hour's drive from Reykjavik: Thingvellir, Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Vik's black sand beach, Bifröst's volcano (also there's a good country hotel nearby)
Forget the blue lagoon, it's overpriced. Public swimming pools have warm baths too and you can find them in every town, many in Reykjavik.
Check out Harpa, if not anything else, then just for architecture, there might be good shows going on.
Laugavegur for shopping and getting hammered.
Went there in 2013 and I loved it, but it was already expensive back then and it's only getting a lot more expensive now. If I'm going another time I'd like to visit Akureyri and go deeper to the inlands.
If money's no issue, go on a helicopter ride over the glacier.

Make sure you get out on the beach across the street from the bay, as well. Really neat with all the mini-icebergs rolling in the surf and littering the beach.
Also, met some guys who were about to go kayaking under a glacier, in the run-off stream. No idea how to line that up, but knowing it exists, maybe you can find it.
