Canadian here, I really want to travel down to Mexico. I understand most tourists stay in resorts but that cant be the only option. Are there places in Mexico that are safe for travellers? I really want to visit that country, but I dont like the idea of being kidnapped, decapitated or having my corpse burned inside a van.

literally even national highways are untravelable because gangs with armored vehicles will raid and kill travelers

I dont think so. Just had no idea, its why I asked.
> it's murder rate is comparable to wartorn middle eastern countries
If thats true, that sucks. Cant even experience other cultures and countries, thanks to faggot gangs, rebels and drug dealers

Only way to travel around Mexico is having a good grasp of Spanish. On the highways, you'll either be a victim of drug dealers/ gangs or get hassled by police officers until you give a hefty "mordida" (bribe). Without some Spanish, you get fucked over by the locals.

Just stay out of the orange if you're really paranoid. In the yellow and the green you might have something happen to you, but only if you're very stupid or very unlucky.

Let me guess, you're a "White" American voting for Trump right?
Also OP, just don't visit Tamaulipas, the rest is fine, just use common sense.

Hey OP, I think this guy is onto something. I live in CA and I know people who have taken down RVs and stuff. Maybe not in the last couple years though. Do you speak spanish?
Look up ajijic jalisco my home town. Plenty of Canadians there. You will love it!

There's nothing wrong with the yellow areas. Just don't do anything stupid. Use the same common sense you'd use everywhere and you'll be fine.
