My grandpa has bought a villa on Corfu that I'm going to be visiting in about a month
How can I avoid looking like a typical retarded American while abroad?
Just be humble.
That's literally it.
Put on a Russian accent
Where on Corfu? I know the island quite well, there are good bits and very very bad bits.

Oh and just learn the most basic Greek words, a bit of effort goes a long way.

Make sure to speak loudly and clearly to the natives. Their English isn't very good so it'll be helpful for them to be able to hear you clearly. Also when meeting a Greek male for the first time, it is traditional to hold eye contact with them, whichever male looks away first submits to the other, and it sets the tone of your relationships. Don't ever be the first to look away, and don't blink, it is a sign of weakness.

also clap very rapidly when entering a home you have not been in before, it wards bad luck
About 8 seconds is acceptable
DON'T WEAR
>under armor, oakley, nike, American Eagle, DCshoeco,
>printed T shirts
>University/college clothing
>Sports clothing in non sports environment
>camoflauge
>cargo shorts
>baseball caps with sunglasses
>hoodies that don't zip up
>anything American sports related
>anything baggy ie shorts past the knees, xl T shirts, etc. etc.
>for girls, big ugly boots gives you away
>sunglasses when it isn't bright
Also practice speaking really quietly, like half your normal volume

Good news, anon. Corfu is predominately English, and for a century. It's got second homes of some pretty recognizable British businessman, celebrities and even royalty. Expect that you'll see a lot of white socks in sandals and other white people vacation fashion. You have absolutely nothing to worry about.
It's a lovely place, wish I was living there, actually. You'll notice right away that it resembles Italian architecture and less Greek. Have fun exploring anon!

I would hazard a guess it's 70% british.
