hey /trv/,
Me and some friends booked return tickets to Dubrovnik from the 9th of august until the 25th of august. Our plan is to travel south through Montenegro and Albania.
Any tips on places we really should visit?
Also, how is the transportation in Albania? Will we be able to book a bus/train/shuttle bus/whatever to travel from place to place?

I've been all across the Balkan.. In Albania don't spend time anywhere other than the coast. Check out saranda and jal. Nothing else. Trust me.
They have shuttle bus / van type thing called furgons most places that will take you mostly anywhere, but it's not really a bookable thing and you will have to haggle. Public transport isn't really a thing.
The coast is REALLY nice. I camped on Gjipe Beach (pic related), but anywhere around the Dhermi region is great.
I also really enjoyed Tirana though. Super interesting city with, good hostels, great food and you can live like a fucking king for very little money.
Also some pharmacies will let you buy xanax without a prescription so that's a thing too.
Shkoër is an amazing little city not far from Montenegro. Should be your first stop. The only hostel in town is great. Probably the coolest hostel I've ever stayed in. Also, you can bike 20 minutes from the hostel to the largest lake in the Balkans, skaderzko jezero (spelling?). It's quite a sight. Shkoder is probably one of my favourite cities in the Balkans. Cheap as fuck too.

Wrong! Go to Skoder and Berat. Tirana is a dirty but nice to experience city. Nothing too touristy there except for the pyramid. But I definetely recommend to go to Saranda because there are some cool places to visit if you are sophisticated enough.
