Looking for a pre-paid international roaming sim-card (one for my phone, one for a GPS tracking I'll stick on a motorcycle).
Google shows a bunch of providers but I'm not sure which is the one to go with?

just get a real GPS.

GPS theft tracker thing, so it can tell me where the bike is if it's stolen; needs a sim to phone home
Dont be stupid, just get a sim for every new country and save money

I'm doing pan-America trip. That's... a lot of fucking countries and a lot of sims, especially when I don't want it for anything but emergency purposes.
Plus buying sims in each country could add up, as will putting minimum balances on them, plus potential paperwork (do any latin American countries requite ID to get a sim?)

T-Mobile in USA has some sort of free-ish global data plan. I've met lots of yanks using them.

Everywhere except USA and Canada a new sim card will cost around $1, which is less than the cost of 1 minute of conversation in roaming. If you stay in the country for more than 1-2 days it's definitely worth it.

Where are you from?

I'll be starting in Canada.
Maybe I'm over-thinking the hassle of buying SIMS in each country. I've never bothered with a cellphone traveling before, but I figure these countries will either be so big or sketchy or both it'd be a good idea.

Where would you even do this? and what is a SIN card called in Spanish?

Seconded T-mobile .. (former Sprint employee Anon too).. they have free global texting, and no charges for wifi calling ..

Dumbass, you act like cell phones only exist in Canada or something
Project Fi (by Google)
Cheaper than T-Mobile, and has better Wifi integration so you can receive calls abroad for free when you have access to Wifi. It never cost me more than $35USD/month.
Get a Garmin or TomTom or something like that with map of places you're going. GPS will go through your data plan, pre-paid or otherwise, faster than hot knife on a stick of butter. You'll be looking to top up your SIM every other day. Save it for surfing, instead.
