I'm from the states and I got to stay with an amazing host family in Germany. Both me and my friend are 18 and our host "parents" are a childless couple in their mid-30s. Is it ok if I keep in touch with them? Nobody in my social circle is from that generation (except for family members of course). I don't know if cross-generation friendships are odd.

Definitely not okay, the designated and officially approved government age interval for friendship is two years. Do you want to go to gulag?

FFS! Don't go fucking with that kid's head!
The officially approved government age interval for friendship is dependent on both parties nationalities!
The largest gap is still only 10 years, though, but DON'T GO FUCKING LYING LIKE THAT TO THAT POOR KID YOU MONSTER!

Friendships are always welcome, age isn't a factor.

I'm 23 and I'm friends with my 58 y/o professor from college. Of course it's okay. It's not like they're creepy strangers, they were your host family.

I don't know if I should laugh at your autism or pity you.
The correct answer is that if you are friends with them then be friends with them, it doesn't matter the age.

yes keep the friendship, just realize they are expecting sexual favors in return
